located perfectly on one of the main streets in bujumbura. about 15mins from the airport. You are literallty in the middle of the city, so everything is easy to reach, the nightlife in the opposite street is very nice in the weekend.

I recently stayed at the Bujumbura Water Front Hotel on a business trip as all other hotels were full due to some East African Delegation meeting that was taking place in Bujumbura. This hotel is called water front but I did not see any view of the lake surrounding the hotel. I was given a room on the 6th floor... More

the hotel is located right downtown bujumbura, walking distance to pretty much anything. Even though it is one of the most expensive hotel, the service is excellent and location too. Well maintained, has a small swimming pool but a nice breakfast / bar area in the back of the hotel facing the swimming pool. I spent a week there. Don't... More

Novotel has been sold and the new owner has not been investing yet. Air-con broken, no hot water, windows won't open and its hot and stuffy

had a great time here, apart from one incident of eye-crossing, teeth-grinding rage when our food didn't turn up for an hour and a half and no-one seemed to care. However, the manager then turned up and took the gift of feedback very graciously. This meant that when we'd calmed down, we could properly enjoy a gorgeous clean pool, fabulous... More

Built in 1984 and going down rapidly ever since. Stay away! Air-con broken, windows won't open and its hot and stuffy. Watch out for suicidal taxi drivers. Nice breakfast though.

The outside bar is very pleasant and a good place to meet friends and colleagues - but that's the only polite thing we could say about the Novotel. Reception area grubby and depressing and full of mosquitos. Bedrooms similarly very badly in need of decoration - and a good scrub, smelt very fusty. Airconditioning feeble, curtains very thin - basic... More

The Novotel in Bujumbura is badly in need of an upgrade. The rooms are stuffy and old, the public spaces tired and faded. The lobby is particularly depressing with low cielings and not enough light. The food's ok. They have good coffee and some decent croissants and pains au chocolats (although they're not really like any others you might have... More
