Luggage was lost, front desk said would phone but did not. I phoned and was advised my luggage now at airport. Saw Reception and answer was shuttle service finished for day (8h00 pm) and no alternative. Room had no toileteries, not even soap. Room Service food overpriced and sub-standard and I was charged for stuff I had not had -... more

Lovely hotel, good service, highly recommended just watch the monkeys at nighttime. It is a little out of town which means you may get stuck in the rush hour traffic (up to 30 minutes to get into town) but if you have a chance to lie by the pool in the afternoon then its worth it! Taxi's are plentiful and... more

The hotel is out of town but is a welcome oasis after a days work. Great grounds, clean pool and relaxed ambiance. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The steak restaurant needs some work - the quality of the meat was not good - disappointing for Botswana that is supposed to be renowned for its beef. Service was friendly but... more

Myself and my girlfriend had a weekend to kill in Gaborone, 15th January - 19th Jan and after a month of hard traveling splashed out on one of the more expensive Gaborone hotel options. Having checked in, a more laborious process than many hotels around the world - photocopies are taken of all guests passports, both sides of the credit... more

It seems a shame to stay in a purpose-built casino-dominated suburb when Gaborone is a small city with a better in town alternative (the Sun). Nonetheless, this hotel, which has had various identities and managements over the years, seems to have found its groove. It offered an excellent room, friendly staff and good buffets. The ATM in the lobby is... more

I went to Gaborone on a business trip the 9th of April to the 13th of April. The grounds of the hotel are very nice - green, looks like a nice oasis. The hotel itself looks like a bunker. Although who looks at the hotel building? :) The interior is very nice - the sliding doors at the entrance are... more

By Botswana standards, the hotel is very swanky. By Western standards, it is serviceable. The rooms were secure, and the safe deposit box worked. The bed was comfortable. The grounds were pretty, and monkeys were racing around the pool. The staff was generally helpful and friendly. There was good high speed internet at the business center next door, though it... more

I stayed at the Walmont/Grand Palm for one week in August 2007, as I was attending a conference at the adjacent (and elegant) Conference Center. (Elegant, that is, for a work conference, although I understand that they do weddings, etc. as well and it would be suited to this.) It's one of the nicer African hotels I have stayed in... more
