Reception could have been more efficient. My room is large, and comfortably appointed and clean. Shower and toilet were clean, and adequate. One has to pay for wi-fi, but once it got going, the speed was adequate. They have a small gym with 2 squash courts, 2 treadmills and a few stationary bikes and some weight machines. There's tennis to... More

On our way from Johannesburg, South Africa to Maun, Botswana where we flew to our 1st safari camp, we over-nighted at the Gabarone Sun Hotel. The grounds are lovely with a resort-feel; the buildings' exteriors are well-maintained; and the lobby is modern and welcoming. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed for our short stay. The staff offered to provide... More

From check in to check out this hotel was poor. Check in was 2pm but the room was not ready. But if you push...one suddenly becomes available. The rooms are dirty, shabby, and smell. They also have old fashioned TVs which barely work and a/c that is floor mounted and incredibly noisy. The restaurant and bar staff and friendly and... More

Having visited many hotels in Africa this was a poor experience. There is a casino attached but u have to pay to go in and it's part of the lobby! Staff were the highpoint but the low points were the pool area which smelt of sewage and the food...oh dear....lunch by the pool was awful and horrid quality....dinner had to... More

I stayed at the Gaborone (pronounced Hab-or-own-eh!) Sun Hotel from 1st to 5th April 2012 for a business trip. I would first of all like to commend the booking staff (especially a lovely lady called Pearl) for their attitude and efficiency over the phone whilst I was making my booking. Pearl was friendly, confident, professional and funny as hell! We... More

The Gaborone Sun hotel includes a casino, but if like me you were there for business, its fine - the sleeping rooms are well away from the casino. The hotel features a decent buffet breakfast and a pool bar/restaurant. The rooms haven't been updated for decades and it shows, but they are reasonably clean. Internet is paid but not particularly... More

Stayed here in Feb 2012. Very clean and updated rooms. Beautiful garden with a pool. Tennis, squash and gym, all very nice and clean. Very friendly staff all over, we miss you Herold! Breakfast is great! Buffet dinner was awesome!!! Pool bar is also great and friendly. Cool and relaxing atmosphere, nice place to draw back from the hustle and... More

This is a good enough and comfortable hotel that is centrally situated in Gaborone. A convenient shuttle service is available between the hotel and airport, and reception service is efficient, although slow when busy. The casino entrance in the lobby does however add a seedy aura to arrival and is not helped by the smell of cigarette smoke. We stayed... More

Having know this hotel for thirty years when it was the Holiday Inn, it certainly has had its ups and downs. From previous visits the two double/queen beds have all gone. The new format is most definitely business, not family, orientated. This hotel rooms are tired,( the safe did not work, the air conditioning unit was extremely noisy, the arm... More

This hotel at first glance was not great. The hotel is old but is well kept. The rooms were really clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food was good, the menu was limited but everything I tried was very good. The " Posh Fish and Chips " was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and always had a... More
