This hotel is okay but I'll be happy when there's more choice in Luanda. Its clean and the pool and spa and gym are great. Room service takes a long time and check in and out takes forever. But its okay and good selection of drinks and restaurants. more

I was in Luanda to do a concert in July {the 1st}. The hotel was wonderful albeit a bit pricey in the Bar. The lunch buffet was incredible with chilled Lobster Tails and a huge variety of Western Culinary delights. The rooms were comfortable and the internet service was adequate. I recommend this hotel above all others in Luanda!! more

I had heard that the Tropico was the best in Luanda and a 4 star property. It is but it is not a Western 4 star. Though the reception staff are overworked--the hotel is very busy with many companies taking block bookings throughout the year to accomodate staff--they try hard as do the rest of the staff. I dont think anyone goes to Luanda unless they have to, but if you do wind up there for whatever reason the Hotel Tropico is probably the place to stay. Nice rooms and the food is pretty good. All the luxuries of a 4* European hotel, No dressing gown, but other than that.... Staff were of great assistance in organising our business function and the whole environment was clean, safe and good value for money. The food in the hotel and on the Illa was great. Don't walk anywhere, but driving in a locked car is safe enough.... more
