Finding hotel rooms in Luanda is a challenge these days, with so much oil business going on. Prices for even a simple hotel will be in excess of $200 / night.

The Continental is not a bad hotel, nor is it great. This was my first stay in Luanda so I can't compare to others in the city.

Reception area is pleasant and spacious, check in was efficient and staff very helpful. This is one of the few hotels that will accept credit cards.

The room was clean and functional, with minibar, TV, safe, plenty of hot water. You would not describe is as luxurious, but perfectly OK for a few days business trip.

There is a small gym which I used a couple of time, treadmills, etc were all in working order. There is no swimming pool in the hotel.

The breakfast (included in the room rate) is not fantastic, but there are fresh fruits, selection of pastries and some hot food, plus good coffee. I did not eat in the restaurant apart from breakfast. There is a bar... more
