We spent a wonderful 3 days at matetsi -the staff were helpful and welcoming, the lodges spectacular though in need of a little tlc but considering the problems in zimbabwe at the moment the best they did the best they possibly could.The game was very interesting and the bird life exceptional. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and keen.

We stayed at Matetsi for 3 nights in April. & Beyond are selling/have sold this camp and it shows I'm afraid. The staff are wonderful, making the most of a very difficult time. This great lodge has recently been sold and is presently being upgraded. I have visited a number of times over the years and the staff (all of whom have stayed on) are brilliant. These are the most luxurious accomodations I've ever experienced. The bathroom itself is apartment sized, and for our anniversary the staff prepared a bubble bath filled with flowers and champagne on ice. The service was impeccable throughout our stay. We visited Matetsi in April 2011 on our way to the Victoria Falls and were completely taken by the hospitality and accommodation. Stayed at the Matetsi Water Lodge for three nights as part of a packaged tour. Was treated royally throughout my stay. My husband and I had a spectacular introduction to the Safari experience in October. Only superlatives would be appropriate to describe the hospitality,accommodations and level of knowledge about the flora and fauna. The night drive following the leopard tracks,the African sunset and the meals by the river will be treasured memories.
