5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I spent only one night in Harare and I was charmed by the Meikles Hotel. From my booking experience, through pick-up and to drop-off at the airport everything was perfect. The amenities were not lacking at all, except that I could not make the most of them. The staff ensured that I did not feel like a stranger in Harare.... More

The Meikles hotel is a grand hotel, and yes it is starting to show signs of age .. But that is minor as most likely all in Harare are in need of makeovers. I have reviewed places that I have found some exceptional people working at.. Yet, I must say Meikles takes the award thus far as having the most... More

I cannot sing the praises of this hotel enough! My 80 year old Mother stayed at this hotel this last week for a convention. The service was outstanding from check-in to check-out and beyond. The Marketing Manager was my "touch stone" in keeping an eye on Mom. After Mom checked out I emailed Judith and expressed my frustration at not... More

My only disappointment is that I only stayed 3 nights and didn't have time to take advantage of all the amenities. However, from the décor and customer services I did enjoy, I can only imagine that the pool, gym, and sauna were top notch. the décor is a combination of local art and colonial design. Compared to other hotels I... More

This hotel has been rennovated and is now much better than before. Still a bit expensive but worthy it . Its strategic location makes it great though. For the business traveller , you will love it.give it a try

Tatenda Chitombo for your excellent five-star review of your stay at Meikles Hotel. We're pleased you highlighted the strategic location of the hotel for business travelers as we're at the very heartbeat of the city of Harare not only surrounded by a lush and historic park but also by so many government, and private sector offices. I hope that, as... More

Our 2nd stay at the Meikles. Having stayed in Victoria falls for a week we stayed here for one night on our way home. It is a lovely hotel and well situated for the business district - shame our room looked out onto the huge corporation building that my husband works for - no getting away from work. Not the... More

As a business traveler, convenience far outweighs most hotel amenities. Our team chose Meikles because of its proximity to the city centre and for its internet connectivity, but a few things surprised me during my week here: + Housekeeping woke me up at 7:30am on a Saturday to pick up laundry + Turn down service is haphazard - it's not... Business travelers to Harare are always quick to acknowledge the prime location of Meikles Hotel and we are delighted that you have joined this chorus by stating that this was a primary factor in your choice of hotel. However, apart from the rigors of business, I hope you managed to explore the city and its environs a bit. If you... More

I am currently staying at this hotel. Wanted to review it while the thoughts are fresh on my mind . . . and this is the main thing I can think of . . . my bath water is black with sewage and mud and God knows what. I had to go down to the lobby three times to report... More

Nice Colonial hotel with friendster staff Two things to mention : the official taxi's in front of the hotel are twice as expensive compared to normal one's. A remark about this made at the reception was answered with : " you should have negotiated if you didn't agree". A lot of customers use the taxi's only once. Also we had... More

I stayed at this hotel 12 years ago with my father, and wanted to bring my wife and son back to it for a return trip to Zimbabwe. 12 years ago there were great shops on the bottom floor on and the street all around the hotel. There were outdoor restaurant's, and the city square in front of the hotel... More

Hello Placerville. I must admit that my geographical knowledge did not extend to knowing about your town, so I have spent a pleasant 15 minutes of research. I note that not only are you located in California USA but that you are well known for producing quality wines in the Sierra Nevada. Thank you for choosing Meikles Hotel for your... More
