The York Lodge is a very special place. The owners are hosting it with a very special touch. Friendly and very professional. The bedrooms are all different, furnished and decorated with lots of details and taste. We enjoyed also the common rooms and the terrace. Did not have the opportunity to take the diner organized every day but this seems to... More

After a long flight from the UK via Johannesburg and arriving in Harare, York Lodge provided the perfect resting place for a couple of nights prior to our Zimbabwe road trip. The place has a strong sense of colonial elegance, tucked behind high walls and adorned with beautifully manicured gardens which provide sanctuary for a host of birds. The rooms... More

I have been staying at York Lodge weekly for almost 3 months. Apart from a great ambience, amazing garden and courteous staff, the personal attention to guests needs are what will always keep me a loyal guest. I am particularly appreciative of the acknowledgement and attendance to my Halaal food requirements and especially for buying a separate set of utensils... More

Margo & her family welcomed me for the 2nd time to their oasis amongst the craziness of Harare. Surrounded by walled security, lies this beautiful mature garden and wonderful old Rhodesian home with additional cottage like extensions for rooms. Real coffee served to my room at 06h30 before a lovely fresh breakfast served on the patio. Dinner can be pre-booked... More

York Lodge is in a residential part of Harare. We received a warm welcome and I loved the room with its patio facing the garden and enjoyed the company of the beagle dog. Had a great breakfast. Much nicer than staying at a standard hotel, although for USD 200 per night it should be. I recommend York Lodge.

My first visit to York Lodge and I certainly wasn't disappointed in this family run lodge. The perfect combination of peace and hospitality, with the perfect example of a pot of tea brought to my room on arrival without even asking. Very welcome after 20 hours travelling! Dinner is a must and a great 3 course meal shared round one... More

Fabulous stay at this family run 5 star lodge. We stayed in the stunning garden rooms and 'dined in' most evenings as the food is simply fabulous. The steaks were to die for, the chicken salad lunches worth a 12 hour flight. Margot and her family and staff made us so welcome, we would have no hesitation in returning when... More

York Lodge is a beautiful lodge in a stunning garden. The family who own and run it, together with their staff, are extremely helpful and ensure that you are well looked after. Breakfast is delicious and our only regret is that we could not stay another night! We will have to return!
