My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at the Les Berge du Lac in Tunis. It's in a great location, very close to the airport, a short ride from the bus station, 10-15 mins from downtown by taxi, and 10 minutes from the shore. It's in a cute, upscale residential neighborhood and within walking distance from good restaurants and a... more

We stayed there for a total of 5 nights. At first, I was satisfied with this hotel. However, on the last day, I totally changed my mind. I bought coffee from a cafe outside and when I stepped into the hotel, the staff stopped me saying that I couldn't bring drinks or food inside the hotel. They kept my coffee... more

I like the hotel in spite of the fact that you cannot have a class of wine with your meal in its restaurants. As far as I understand the reason is that the whole area of Les Berges du Lac is non-alcoholic. So I solved the problem by visiting a local hyper-market, bought some bottles of wine and enjoyed the... more

I came to Les Berges du Lac thinking it is a nice 5-star hotel for international tourists. NOT SO: It is now under Saudi ownership, and they have taken steps to ensure that the hotel is run under Islamic fundamentalist rules. This means for example that there is absolutely no alcohol served anywhere in the hotel, you simply cannot get... more

I paid £140 ($280) for a night here. That is big money for Tunisia (I normally pay around £50 for a 4 star hotel but this one was booked for me by a customer. At least for that money I expected 5 star luxury but I was a bit disapointed. It was close but not quite there. Front desk staff... more

This is absolutely my favorite hotel yet! It smells so fresh and clean, the rooms are beautiful, the beds are so comfortable. The deck has a gorgeous view, the food is great, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Again, the scent! Whatever it is, smells so good! I only stayed for three nights, and I wish I could have... more

Second stay. This time in Feb-08, last time was Nov-07. Just been there for a new nights on both occasions. A déjà vu feeling returning due to the fragrant scent of rose leafs. In fact, the longer you stay, the more sticky the scent escalates. Don't know where it comes from? Rooms are nice. Gym + pool area + spa... more

The hotel is well situated between Tunis and Carthage and near the airport, but adequately soundproofed. Probably best if you have your own car; sufficient parking. Food was very good with a strong French influence. The only surprise was that the hotel stocks only three Tunisian wines; apparently because the site was bought from a strict Saudi. As we were... more

Stayed here on business, and thought it was ok. Great views of the lake, and breakfasts good. Apparently the hotel is not allowed to serve alcohol but it does if you go into the back of the restaurant!!!! the staff in the restaurant are great. Rooms fine, but very very hot to the point of stuffy and uncomfortable. I called... more

The hotel was beautiful, breakfast wonderful, and the spa was gorgeous. The views of the lake from our room were amazing. You need to rent a car to get around, but the area will soon be like Manhattan's Soho in Tunis. more
