3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

The location is excellent and the rooms are clean and new. A minus in the rooms (mine at least) was the absence of chairs - only stools available. The second big weakness is the absolute absence of a common space (lobby). There is practically only the reception desk with no lounge, lobby or cafe. Breakfast is limited with prety low... More

Dear Sir Thank you for taking the time to write a comment. May we respond briefly to your main concern: "The second big weakness is the absolute absence of a common space (lobby). " You are right! But what you saw is our temporary settings while we are completely refurbishing our brand new reception hall that will be opened in... More

The Carlton is conveniently located on the main street of Tunis, just a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport. It was being renovated when I stayed there. The lobby was so small as to be almost nonexistent, but the new breakfast room was spacious and airy. My room, 102, looked to have been recently refurbished, but it lacked a... More

The Carlton Hotel is right in the heart of the new city with several affordable Tunisian restaurants right around the corner of Rue du Caire. The Hotel is undergoing renovation, but the guest rooms are finished and up-to-date. The staff is courteous. On weekdays the breakfast buffet has freshly cooked omelettes or crepes. Value for Price!

The location of this hotel is excellent! You step out the doors and right onto the main street. That being said, we werent affected by noise at all. The hotel id under renovation, but it wasnt a problem. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and the tv had some good channels in english - always a... More

This hotel is currently being renovated, having said that I did not find that it affected customers at all other than reduced space in the lobby. We stayed in a refurbished room which was fantastic. There was plenty of space and we were offered a choice of rooms, we opted for 318 a quiet room at the back. This hotel... More

We stayed here for two nights and we're glad that we picked this hotel right in the center of town. We enjoyed walking out to the medina, the downtown shopping area and to nearby restaurants. The room is European size. But it's modern, nice, and clean.

Ideally located walking distance to everything on the main avenue of the city. There is a paying parking (well worthed sinc is difficult to circulate by car). Rooms have been recently renovated (there was still work in the third floor) Bathrooms are a little small and rooms have max. 2 pax capacity (we had to book two of them close... More

Newly renovated and clean hotel, nothing to complain about. The location is very good on the main avenue of Tunis. Breakfast was basic hotel standard, so not especially good but still ok. If you just want a decent room with a good location and are not planning to spend more time at the hotel, this is a very good choice.

Dear Susanna E Thank you for your kind comment. You stayed at the Carlton Tunis Hotel at a time where our reception hall was in progress, and were welcomed at a narrow temporary reception desk, wich may have induced part of your comment. We apologize for that, the new (much) larger reception hall, with nice resting corners will be available... More

I have to say (a bit sadly) this is the best hotel I visited in Tunisia (from 3). Sadly as it were basic problems with this place as well, all could be avoided easily with a bit better staff and management. Positives: Seriously this hotel is so far has the best room conditions/facilities in Tunisia. The room facilities, the bed,... More

Dear "Nyarstomi" Thank you very much for taking the time for this long and detailed comment about the Carlton-Tunis Hotel, and for the cice things you said. About the rest: -Taxis: We confirm that the the taxis are very poorly organized at Tunis airport; but we seriously doubt that the meters are different from one taxi to another; the problem... More
