This is what it used to be the ABOU NAWAS and I got the impression that generally speaking service's got slightly worse with the change of ownership/denomination. Also breakfast seems to have worsened especially for the price charged. Rooms obviously are the same, big enough with the usual old/worn out furniture which is so common to hotels in the Maghreb.... more

I spent 3 nights in this hotel last November The hotel is located near to the city center, 10 min walk from the medina and close to the commercial avenue. The rooms are large, very clean, with large beds and old fashioned but quality furniture. No refrigerator or mini bar. Nice lobby were you can have a cup of tea... more

I recently attended a conference in Tunis and the organisation who arranged this for us got us a good deal at £40 per night which was excellent value for a hotel of this standard. The location of the hotel was was okay for a conference but not sure if I would have wanted to stay here for any other reason.... more

it was awonderful stay I participate to congress which was held there. I appreciate too much the dinner offered at the end of the congress in the sherazade restaurant where I was very surprised by the best performance of the brasilian belly dancer Adriana. In General I appreciate the helpfull of the employees more

Stayed here for a week in January - was apprehensive given other reviews, but the stay was fine. Trip was 5 days for business and this was the hotel arranged by my client. As another reviewer pointed out - this location is good for access to financial and other businesses, but a healthy walk from tourist areas. Check-in was not... more

The location is convenient for a number of financial and business offices, although not for tourism. The lobby is great for people-watching and one of the few places a woman alone can relax with a drink or coffee. The room was clean and up to date, with CNN, BBC etc. on TV. Reliable daily housekeeping and excellent room service. Business... more

Some say this hotel is not really what it's made out to be. Here are my five cents worth, writing from my room in the hotel right now on December 2, 2007: Lobby exudes grandeur, lot's of marble as is often found in flagship properties such as this in "middle income" countries. You will find a virtually all marble bathroom.... more

Stayed there for three nights this September. Excellent hotel. It was very clean, the staff was extremely helpful. Bare in mind that most of the staff speaks French fluently but they do not speak English. The rooms were very spacious, the rooms was cleaned twice a day and they provide us with a fruit basket and chocolates. Upon arrival we... more

We went there as it was recommended by a local official. It is overpriced when you consider it is really a 3 star hotel at best. It got the 5 star form the "Tunisian tourist board". In saying that, it was ok, the breakfast is good and the fruit and cheese are excellent. I even accidently had some raw lamb... more

We stayed here for a few days in April. There is nothing essentially wrong with the hotel, however bear in mind that 5 star in Tunis (and most other places in Tunisia) is a long way short of 5 star elsewhere. Rooms were ok, but smelt of smoke, despite being a non-smoking room. Double bedrooms in Tunisia also consist of... more
