We stayed here for one night with 6 adults and 6 children. I think we had the best room of the hotel, which was 311. It has two bedrooms with two large (double) beds and one single one. We added a matrace from out neighbouring room and had the 6 kids sleeping there together. Food was limited (quantity and quality,... More

Berber themed hotel in Old Matmata. Rooms have an entry area and bathroom, but bed is in a cave-like hole. Weak AC/fan only blew warm air that did not reach the cave so bedroom was hot and stuffy. Bedroom ceiling is low and walls are dusty. I'm 5'10" and I smacked my head against the ceiling twice. Bathroom is passable... More

Me and my 7 year old son knocked one evening on the door asking for a room. For about £20 a night, we had the most amazing room, sleeping in a 'modern cave'. My son being a Star Wars fan was thrilled. We were served a three course set meal that was included and although simple, very delicious. Soup, Salads... More

The hotel was the best in Matmata, you can experience a Troglodite house, food was good. The staff was very nice and Matmata's location it's great to stay two nights if you are travelling without a group, to visit the Bere Bere Fortifications and Ksar Grihlane, in the Sahara Matmata it is also worth seeing, really special and unique

Stayed here as part of a tour. Hotel room was good. The buffet was not. Had dinner and breakfast here. Food that should have been hot was cold. Great views thought over the desert from the grounds though. Friendly staff.

This is an enormous hotel - presumably designed for large package groups which, when we stayed, simply weren't there. In fact, nobody was there apart from us. Most of the place was in darkness. It was like something out of The Shining. The troglodyte room was nice enough but the bathroom needed a good scrub. The swimming pool looked very... More

We were in Tunisia for a 12-day trip. This hotel was our stop on our 5-day trip called "Le fond du désert". This hotel is builted like the gorfas in the south of Tunisia. We did sleep in a berber gorfa-style room, which was really exotic. The interior-court of the hotel are beautifull with all the flowers and the decorations.... More
