Nice location to stay while visiting the serengeti. You can look for wildlife while driving to the lodge as well as right outside your door. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Rooms were clean, but bathroom could use some new paint. Hot towels were a nice touch when arriving at the end of each day. more

I was very disappointing with Serengeti Serena - especially since we had just come from Mbalageti Safari Camp, also in the Serengeti - which is a million times better. We were traveling with my husband's family - 6 of us in total, so we needed 3 rooms. The other members of our party got much better rooms with great views... more

Stayed 3 nights in late March 2009 as part of 9 day safari. A nice lodge, in a nice setting, but with surly desk staff. Other staff in restuarant, bar, room service and guards to walk you around at night ( required) were all quite pleasant. Room was nice, not elegant, water was available 24/7 - altho after a heavy... more

I was pleasantly surprised by the Serena Serengeti; as someone who's not a fan of chain hotels, I was a bit concerned about staying here, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. Luckily, the place wasn't full so I may have felt differently if it had been. As it was, the location and views over the plains were great, the room... more

The Serengeti is an amazing park and this hotel offers a nice respite from the long days out on game drives. As a large hotel, you get luxuries that we didn't find as often in smaller ones *regular and consistent hot water in the bathroom *decent internet connection to send an email home to let everyone know we were fine... more

The accomodations, cleanliness, quality of the food and ambience were all outstanding and only exceeded by the incredible customer service and friendliness of the staff.. They couldn't do enough to make our stay terrific.... more

A little bumpy to get to....but a terrific location from which to see the great animals in the park. The hotel is fine -- although the Tse Tse flies are really bothersome. They offer escorts to ensure people are safe going to/from the rooms to the dining area (in case of animal attack, etc.). Overall, good food, good service and... more

Stayed here for one night in mid-December. The ambiance and decor are very nice and we got an escort to our room. The food was very nice - good selection for both dinner and breakfast. My only complaint is that there were way too many weird looking bugs in our room. I made my other half kill about 10 before... more

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at the Serengeti Serena Lodge. The atmosphere was amazing and none of the pictures I've seen do it justice. Our room and bathroom were very comfortable, and I loved the unique architectural details and decor. Someone put a great deal of time into making the theme and atmosphere cohesive... more

Early Nov 08, spend 2 nights in the Serena Serengeti. Hotel performance was below standard (compared with what one would expect from a Serena lodge). Over the past years, I've stayed multiple times in multiple Serena lodges and hotels in Tanzania and Kenya (Mara, Samburu, Ngorogoro, Mombasa) and each time had great experiences. Unfortunately Serena Serengeti was not up to... more
