Not just because we were in the Serengeti but because of the people. EVERYONE there was very attentive and friendly. The tents were large and comfortable with showers. Security was plenty and the chef was accommodating. A Huge shout out to Venus, Alpha, Lucy, Essau, Philip, Haji, and everyone else....Thank You!

Everything about this place is really god! We lived in tent number 1, it had two large beds and a big bathroom! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The sang a song for us nice! The food is really good as we well!

We stayed here for 2 nights in low season. The place was very quiet with only 1 or 2 other tents being occupied. The tents are lovely and have everything you could require. We had a good view from our tent and saw lots of klipspringers and hyrax just outside. The food and restaurant service were all fine but just... More

I am certainly not a camper, but I really enjoyed this stay as part of our safari. The tented camp idea is great for people like me who want the connection to the outdoors, but a comfy bed and private bathroom too! We were certainly connected to the outdoors, my husband found a big lizard on his bathrobe - lucky... More

When you enter mbuzi mawe you feel very welcomed by the lovely staff. They will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The tents are very comfortable and spacious. After dark the staff will accompany you go your tent because of the animals that can walk freely through the tented camp. (while we were there a leopard... More

There was nothing particularly bad about Mbuzi Mawe, but also nothing particularly great. The tents are old, there are over 15 of them and the staff is not as attentive as I was used to on safari. Luckily we were traveling with a Micato rep, otherwise I fear we would have been lost in the shuffle with the other guests.... More

This is more hotel than camping, but instead of staying in a room with a door it was a permanent tent with a zipper. The rooms were very nice. It was really cool to lie in bed and hear animals right outside the tent. The bathroom situation was fine for my husband and myself, but I can imagine no door... More

This was the last lodge on our trip to South Africa and Tanzania. We liked Mbuzi Mawe the best of the lodges in Tanzania. It is small with about 16 tents. We received a lot of personal attention and the staff knew our names. The tent cabin was quite elegant and very comfortable. The tented camp is on a rock... More

I have stayed at numerous tented camps on Safari in Tanzania. Mbuzi Mawe Tented camp is nicely situated and designed amongst the Kopes, tents are spacious and well maintained. Facilities were clean and cared for. One of the biggest shortfalls for me on this review was the staffing. Restaurant service was average but the food was fine. There was never... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights in December 2012. We should have been staying at the Serena Serengeti but due to 'overbooking' we were given Mbuzi Mawe as an alternative. Having already stayed at the Lake Manyara Serena, which was excellent, we were a bit apprehensive of the change. However this 'camp' is run by Serena Hotels and... More
