You get the real experience of being in the bush at this tented camp. There's no permanent structure here, even for the meal area; all the kitchens and dining areas are tents, too. As others have mentioned, we too heard lions right near camp, but we always felt safe: they provide staff to escort you to your tent after dark.... More

Top location for a stay in the Serengeti NP. This tented camp has is well equipped with decent beds. The campfire every night was a good place to exchange great stories with fellow travellers. And all the sounds at night of wild animals, especially the lions, are AMAZING!!

Feeling like Dr Livingstone and his contemporaries when resting in a tent in the middle of the bush. Eared lions, hyenas, baboons and wildebeests during the night, Oh the lions were at the river which is just 50 m next to the camp! Never mind, we always felt safe. thanks the great welcoming given by the staff: As we are... More

As with most tented lodges in the Serengeti, this did not disappoint. As we were driving, we found a lion sleeping and we decided to take a few photos as it was so close by, little did we know that only 20 meters further and we were at our tent :O The staff were friendly and the tents are well... We stayed here during our safari and were very impressed with the quality of the camp. The veggie food and lunch box was the best I had on the trip. Tents amazingly comfortable and huge! The campfire is a nice tough to encourage conversation after dinner and there's even a bar tent with sofas!

We stayed two night in this camp and it was a great experience! The camp is located directly in the Serengeti National Park. The view out of our tent was really stunning. Tents offer a lot of space...a main room with a king-size bed and enough space for luggage and everything. Then there is a separated sink with bottled hot... More

We loved staying here. The staff are friendly and efficient and they manage to produce really good hearty meals with the most basic of equipment. The tents are a good size, each one has it's own name hung up outside - a nice touch. The beds are comfortable, ours had elephant detail and we were even provided with Masai blankets... More

This was one of the best camps I stayed at during my trip to Tanzania. They are basic camps and hot water is brought to your tent when needed for shower. The proximity to wildlife is surreal. We woke up at 2am with a loud lion roar and heard lion grunts on both nights we were there. We also had... More

In Febuary we stayed for 3 nights at the Halisi Camp which in this time of the year is located in the Ndutu area in Southern Serengeti. Although this is basically a no frills bushcamp with no electricity and no running water, our stay and experience were exceptionally good. The location was fantastic for wildlife viewing. On our first game... More

Halisi camps follow the migrations and during our visit in February 2014 we were located near Ndutu. The proximity to wildlife was exceptional, and zebra visited the camp during our stay. Lions could be sighted from the campsite and the view of the lake was breathtaking. This is a low-impact, eco-friendly camp, with shower and toilet provided in the tent.... More
