This is an experience! We stayed 2 nights here while on safari in the Serengeti. The tented rooms are spacious even with a king size bed and have their own bathroom with a shower. As expected, conservation is a priority and electricity was conserved between 10pm and about 4am. We were able to charge all of our electronics at the... More

We stayed in this camp for 2 night and would never return again! The place in not safe at all – no fence, so the animals come really close to the huts, which is nice during the day, when you can take pictures of them, but not necessary in the night, when there are lions roaring outside while you are... loved this little gem in Ikoma. The rustic atmosphere is superb to relax in. Pepe the owner is very entertaining and remember that he is from Barcelona and is an ardent Barca fan. The environment is nice and we enjoyed it throughly. Will surely return

We camped here just for a night on our way to Ngorongoro. The best thing about this camp was that it was in the middle of the wilderness of Serengeti. There was no fencing and that gave us a feeling off being in the middle of the forest. While the receptionist was a little uptight, the restaurant staff was very... More

When we booked our safari, we had told our tour operator we wanted a variety of lodges as we wanted to experience different atmospheres while on the safari. This was definitely the most rustic of the places we stayed, but it was very nice. Pepe is quite the character and is very nice and easy to talk to and to... More

Hot water is available in the rooms from 6-11pm. I advise you to take a shower in the evening, because by morning the water is cool-warm. No power in rooms for charging or hair dryer, however lots of charging points in the restaurant. Dinner was one small pork chop which was very tasty but had little meat and a lot... More

First off ... the bundle of energy named Pepe ... a gem of a gentleman. The moment we met, i felt welcome. Maybe because of his openness and authenticity. Then there's the quirky slap em together and voila you have this miracle of a shavk, large with sturdy floors and nice solid bed and veeeery large bathroom and a nice... More

It appears pretty primitive, and that impression isn't far off. When we arrived a bit early, and no one could rouse the management, we almost left, but ended up very glad that we stayed. The setting was spectacular, and the food wasn't bad. A place we would return to.

We stayed two nights at Ikoma safari camp and we loved it. If you expect a luxury camp you are wrong here. But if you want to enjoy pure nature, sitting on the balcony of your lodge, enjoying a cold beer and listening to the wild while watching the sunset, then this is the place to be. The lodges are... Let's begin with the pluses...the location, the spacious rooms, 24 hour electricity, Pepe the manager a very colourful character. My complain would be the food. We had 15 days in Tanzania and this was by far the worse food (perfectly ok, do not get me wrong, but the worse of our trip). Portions are definitely small (I do eat a... More
