Although we stayed here 2 nights, we were out on game drives so much that we didn't get to enjoy the camp itself as much as I would have liked. There is a nice tent set up as a lounge with comfortable chairs, a cash bar, and plenty of games. The dining tent was a bit dark but they serve... More

This is a great semi-permanent camp. It is located in the seronera area of the serengeti. I stayed with my wife and 2 daughters in March, 2014. This is a small, intimate camp. These are nice tents with en suite bathrooms and a bucket shower. Good hot water, but goes quickly. Read the directions on how to do it and... More

By the time we stayed at this camp, we had stayed in many lodges with "tents" built on platforms with permanent plumbing and wood floors. Serengeti Wilderness Camp is a real tent, with floors made of tent material, a pump toilet (kind of like some small boats I've been on) and bucket showers. So you're roughing it a little bit.... Friends and I stayed in two tents in Serengeti Wilderness Camp for 2 nights in February. Generally, we thought the camp was OK but we thought it suffered from a lack of attention to detail. We were greeted pleasantly on arrival but, especially compared to practices in other mobile tented camps, we thought the orientation was a bit lacking. For... More

Dear Sirs Thank you for writing an honest appraisal of our camp. I would be happy to take this up further on email, if you prefer, but would like tor respond to some points you made on Trip Advisor. Regarding the tent style. I suspect you were staying in one of our older tents - as we have redesigned the... More

We loved this camp. You feel really close to nature and go to sleep at night listening to the animal noises and wake up in the morning to the birds singing. We stayed in other "tented lodges" that didn't really seem like tents. In this mobile camp you really are in a tent - but the fanciest tent I've ever... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a report on our camp. We are continually trying to improve the experience, and your comments ref the lights are 'already in hand' as we were there recently and noted that the strength of the bed-side light was a little weak for reading. New globes have been purchased and sent... More

First of all. If you're there in the dry season, you are going to spend 8-10 hours a day traveling on unpaved, dusty roads with large potholes. Bring wraparound sunglasses and eye drops. In the wet season, you'll be on unpaved, muddy roads with large potholes; you'll also have to deal with swarms mosquitoes. Personally, I would choose the dry... More

This was a great camp, where we dined and had breakfast with our guide. This camp is based in the centre of Serengeti and the sounds of wild animals at night are to be expected! The tent was clean and free of any insects. We were given extra blankets if we felt cold, but it proved to be unnecessary. Hot... More

The tents are very large. We had a king sized very comfortable bed. The bucket showers were adequate to shower and shampoo your hair. - and I have long, thick hair. It took a little practice to not wobble on the toilet and to step over the divider between sleeping area and bathroom area. We kept a low light on by... More

Thinking of Hemingway sitting in front of a bleached canvas tent.... this was as close as it got for us.We are used to camping so the water restrictions ( 20 l = basically one shower per day) did not bother us. I was a bit hesitant about the throne like raised toilet in the back part of the tent -... More

It felt great to wake up and go to sleep at night hearing the sounds of nature right outside our tent after spending a few nights at a lodge. Nothing can compare to having dinner in the dining tent and hearing female lions roaring. Even if you don't consider yourself a camper, you owe it to yourself to spend at... More
