I enjoyed this lodge in the Serengeti - set into the rocky hillside is provided fantastic views from the swimming pool area out across the plains - imagine sitting and having a cold beer/wine looking out at the view. From the reception area there is a short climb up to the dining room (though they do have a ramp for... More

I stayed at this hotel in August 2014. Location wise its the best. on the wilde beast migration route. The rooms have a great view of the wide expanse of Serengeti. It being on a hilltop is an advantage. Rooms are neat and comfortable. Food is average. Overall a very good place to stay.

I was put up here as part of a package deal, so I'm not really sure how much it costs to stay here. Thus, I can't comment on whether it "offers value". But I did enjoy my time here. The hotel and rooms were very nice with all the amenities and services you'd expect at a luxury hotel. There are... More

Lobo Lodge captures the spirit of the north Serengeti by being built into and on top of a kopje. The wildlife viewing from the poolside bar is fabulous. Sip wine or a Kilimanjaro beer while watching the sunset. What I loved - I loved the architecture and the history of Lobo Lodge. The main dining room and indoor bar utilizes... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view from the room was good. We could see rock hyrax, monkeys and baboons, buffalo, warthogs and antelope from our windows. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful and friendly. It pays to learn a little Swahili as with our few words of Swahili we had many... More

I had seen mediocre reviews about Lobo on Tripadvisor even before we started our safari. Nevertheless, I chose to stay there for one night as its location was appropriate for our route. Unexpectedly, this was a great choice. Now we consider the night in Lobo as the best out of six night we spent totally in our Tanzanian safari. There... More

the only real good thing to say about this lodge is that its location is spactacular, it has a balcony around the pool with a vie to die for. other than that, it was just one dissapointment followig another, when we arrived the reception didnt know we are coming, had to wait for some 15 minutes until the menager came... My initial reaction was soured by the staff overly keen for tips but the room, location and facilities were generally superb. Nestled in the rocks high on the hill, this lodge has been mostly very well designed and built. The tree in the restaurant was obviously a mistake but the pool location and layout was great even though it was... More

Run by the same management company as Ngorongoro Lodge, but noticeably better. Lobo Lodge is nestled in among the rocks of a kopje with the natural features incorporated into the design of the building. The swimming pool is made partly out of the natural rock, and there are outcrops of rocks incorporated into the design of the lounge and dining... More
