Stayed two nights at this hotel, one either side of a trip up Kili. I was pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the hotel and thought the public areas and the rooms were good. We were climbing Kili, and stayerd there before and after. Our tour company had booked it for us, and after looking at the website, we were quite excited to get there. The outside of the hotel & grounds are very nice. The pool area is nice to lounge around, and the hotel is situated conveniently on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. There are several hikes that you can book through the front desk for a fee, some to waterfalls and some to the village of Machame. We particularly enjoyed the village... more

Stayed here both before and after our trek up Kilimanjaro and can't say enough about the setting, the quality of the property, the food, and especially GM Eric Muiruri and his entire staff! I came to Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and stayed at the Protea Hotel Aishi. This hotel is nestled among hundreds of trees and and large lush lawns. It has a heated swimming pool and a gym.
