The outside of the hotel & grounds are very nice. The pool area is nice to lounge around, and the hotel is situated conveniently on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. There are several hikes that you can book through the front desk for a fee, some to waterfalls and some to the village of Machame. We particularly enjoyed the village... more

Stayed here both before and after our trek up Kilimanjaro and can't say enough about the setting, the quality of the property, the food, and especially GM Eric Muiruri and his entire staff! I came to Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and stayed at the Protea Hotel Aishi. This hotel is nestled among hundreds of trees and and large lush lawns. It has a heated swimming pool and a gym.
