We used this lodge on our trek to Kilimanjaro. While there were certainly good portions of the lodge, like the food and the room accommodations, the actual trekking outfit is very poorly managed and run. You should look elsewhere for a more professional experience.

Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate you highlighting the situations on the mountain. We would have really appreciated if you could have also mentioned how you had medical issues and had refused to submit a medical report to the agent that had organised the climb for you, hence your early return from the climb. We all work... More

My wife and I stayed at Ameg Lodge in early September before and after our Kilimanjaro climb. The lodge is quiet and peaceful and the staff are courteous and attentive. We also found the manager to be quite pleasant and easy to deal with. It was the perfect place to stay on either end of a Kilimanjaro climb and offers... More

I used Ameg to plan a Kilimanjaro trek with my brother and nephew- very very pleased with the service provided! The trek organiser briefed us thoroughly before we set off and adequately addressed any concerns we had. The porters and guides were evidently very experienced and went out of their way to ensure our safety and comfort were guaranteed at... More

The rooms at ameg lodge are the most comfortable and luxurious we've stayed in during our trip through Tansania. The beds are very comfy and you can get a good nights sleep, as it's very quiet around. The AC is working good, and the room is spacious. The bathroom is very clean with a perfect working hot water shower. We... More

This outfit has dual role they provide. First lodge which is perfectly located for Mount Kilimanjaro and town of Moshi visitors and has very good facility incl clean rooms with AC and TV and great cottage type rooms and pleasing landscape, Their in-house restaurant is also very good both in food and service. However where this place fails miserably is... More

We used this lodge and company for the entirety of our 2 week trip to Tanzania. We found this company to be wonderful! Hiten was an unbelievable help in planning our trip. He was thorough and hugely informative for both our Kili climb as well as the 5 day safari afterwards. The Lodge itself is perfect. The rooms were a... More

A great place to stay whether your climbing Kilimanjaro, off for a safari or just putting your feet up for a few days. Great service, amazing food with a wide variety of buffet. Comfortable and very clean rooms definitely add up to the very affordable rate charged. The management are friendly and always willing to give that extra hand incase... More

A lovely environment, lovely grounds. Rooms are basic but nice. Biggest problem is hot water. Stayed on three occasions and every time no or little hot water. Tough after a seven day climb! Food is good but not on time and service is rather abrasive nice beds, air conditioned. All in all good but perhaps needs some attention to service.

I stayed at this hotel when i travelled to Tanzania in March 2014 for my kilimanjaro climb. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in total as i spent most of my time camping on the mountain. The rooms were clean, well presented and come with a safe, tv (even though never used) and mosquito net and i felt... More

We were referred to AMEG Lodge by a friend as a place to stay pre and post Kilimanjaro hike. We were a group of 5 for whom Ameg had arranged the entire trip including a short safari to Ngorongoro for some of us. They took very good care of us, the briefings, equipment hire and the whole staff was fantastic.... More
