Very nice hotel to stay even with a bigger group or family. Rooms are nice with all moden facilities + electricity backup system. Pool is ratehr small but the water is refresshing cool. Gym is free of charge. Most of the time WiFi was up and running fine, even to watch movies recored in my Elisa Viihde Cloud in Finland.

Ameg was the definition of accommodation...they accommodated my very early morning arrival/check-in and check-out, as well as my dietary restrictions. Prime location for all especially those who plan to climb Kilimanjaro. The view of the mountain peeking over the lodge is awesome. And the avian visitors that roam the grounds are quite exciting. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and... More

Only stayed here the one night as I was heading off to climb Kilimanjaro the following day, I found the whole place charming, nicely set out in its own grounds, friendly staff, lovely buffet food and free wifi access ( via a code from reception) which was ideal to let everyone know you had arrived safely. Added advantage of a... More

The AMEG Lodge is best described as basic but clean accommodation with an excellent on site restaurant mostly serving Indian style cuisine. We stayed here for 2 days both before and after climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. Overall our stay was great and had no complaints and would recommend the Lodge as a good place to stop over. It was about 50... More

While most people vacation with others, I went to Ameg alone, without any specific plans for tours, and with a slight handicap. The manager was wonderful. He arranged drivers/guides for my the day trips and balanced them so a less rigorous day followed a more strenuous day. All were gracious and simply delightful. I truly felt at home and was... More

I used Ameg for booking my trek up Kilimanjaro via the Machame route in Aug 2014 and was very happy with the service that was provided by the company on the mountain. The guides and porters were very helpful, friendly and experienced and took the time to walk at a comfortable pace with everyone in the group.

We used this lodge on our trek to Kilimanjaro. While there were certainly good portions of the lodge, like the food and the room accommodations, the actual trekking outfit is very poorly managed and run. You should look elsewhere for a more professional experience.

Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate you highlighting the situations on the mountain. We would have really appreciated if you could have also mentioned how you had medical issues and had refused to submit a medical report to the agent that had organised the climb for you, hence your early return from the climb. We all work... More

My wife and I stayed at Ameg Lodge in early September before and after our Kilimanjaro climb. The lodge is quiet and peaceful and the staff are courteous and attentive. We also found the manager to be quite pleasant and easy to deal with. It was the perfect place to stay on either end of a Kilimanjaro climb and offers... More

I used Ameg to plan a Kilimanjaro trek with my brother and nephew- very very pleased with the service provided! The trek organiser briefed us thoroughly before we set off and adequately addressed any concerns we had. The porters and guides were evidently very experienced and went out of their way to ensure our safety and comfort were guaranteed at... More

The rooms at ameg lodge are the most comfortable and luxurious we've stayed in during our trip through Tansania. The beds are very comfy and you can get a good nights sleep, as it's very quiet around. The AC is working good, and the room is spacious. The bathroom is very clean with a perfect working hot water shower. We... More
