Very basic and spartan rooms, but they were clean. The views of Kilimanjaro are astounding. The staff was very enthusiastic. We were only staying one night, but I wish we had stayed longer and taken advantage of the hotel's offerings for local tours and activities.

The lodge is located on the top of a hill above the Chagga village tribe. As soon as you open the door from your hut you can see the whole valley as well as Mt. Kilimanjaro itself! When we arrived, even at midnight, we were greeted by several of the staff and everyone was very friendly. My husband and I... More

Fantastic location and view. The staff are very friendly and were able to get us a highly discounted tour (however we were short on cash as students) which was highly appreciated. The lodges are nice and large and are suitable for a group of friends or a family. It's halfway up Kilimanjaro's slopes in farmland, so it isn't too touristy.... More

We happened on this place via TA and promptly booked it. Nothing could be simpler. T&C clearly posted on the website and they did as promised to the letter. We were picked from KIA Lodge at the Airport and after an interesting drive we arrived at this lovely place. We found everything as we expected it to be. This was... More

My husband and I traveled to Tanzania this past September - the trip of a lifetime and one that I had spent at least 2 decades dreaming of. I was set up with a travel agent, Ken Murray, who specializes in these trips and was immediately told, by Ken, about Philip the owner of the Mt. Kili Lodge. Philip grew... More

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also booked a Kilimanjaro Trek through the lodge which turned out great. We did a great acclimatization hike through the local villages to a wonderful remote waterfall. The road to the lodge is rough and a bit long, so try to arrange your trip so you can go and stay to unwind,... More

I recently stayed 2 nights at Mount Kilimanjaro Lodge with my daughter. It was a wonderful experience. Philip and his staff were incredibly welcoming, creating much enjoyment with the singing, dancing and drumming after dinner. The rooms were comfortable , water hot , and the surrounding views memorable. Mount Kilimanjaro, with its snow capped peak was right on our doorstep!... More

I stayed at this lodge for 4 days. It is just south of the peak, about one hour by 4WD from Moshi. It is right next to the rainforest reserve and at 2000m it's the perfect preparation for a climb. It is not possible to start the climb from there as yet, the owner told me he has submitted an... More

We stayed here before we began our Kilimanjaro climb after finding this on tripadvisor... and it really is quite a find! It is up in the hills and offers STUNNING views of Kilimanjaro (best to see at night when it's clear or in the morning). The rooms are huts and are very quaint and comfortable. The staff goes above and... More
