The beach is beautiful here and the sea quite shallow for quite a distance going out. The accommodation is clean and very basic take a torch as the lights are not very good in the rooms. Our shower washed the whole bathroom before falling to bits and the toilet cistern broke and flooded the whole bathroom apart from the above... More

The Chalets, elevated buildings with a bed on a raised platform are build in such a way that even airconditioning is not needed, the sea breeze gently blows through the room. The balcony with the hammock is ideal for a rest or enjoying the many birds or banded mongoose roaming around. The beach is clean, white and the indian ocean... More

I visited as part of a World Challenge group of 17. The accommodation on stilts was fun and comfortable but despite pre ordering food at 6.30 pm one evening we waited until 8.30 pm to start eating which with 13 teenagers was frustrating! We had the impression that everyone else was served first including another smaller World Challenge group but... More

We stayed for two nights in a comfortable 3 bed banda. The mosquito nets had gaping holes in so bring your own. The banda was situated in the camping area by lots of tents and some big overland trucks, so demand for the 2 showers and 3 toilets was high in the mornings and there was a lot of noise... More

I was travelling alone in Dar and was recommended Kipepeo by a friend of mine. Was meant to stay two days, but was a little too lazy to make the trip across on the ferry, so did one night at a different spot. This was a stupid mistake as once I pulled myself together and went I wish I had... More

I spent 3 days at Kipepeo in June 2014 and this was my second stay. The beach huts are very good value (28 dollars/day, accommodation only). They are located right on the beach and they make up for very peaceful and restful nights thanks to the hypnotic sound of the ocean. The huts are equipped simply: just a bed, a... More

The bandas as shown in the photo are about 300 meters from the beach in an area cut out of the forest. Rooms are sparse and very basic. Verandas look out at nothing. Restaurant and bar is adequate, but service is poor. Ordered prawns for lunch. 20 minutes later when I thought my lunch was being served, the waitress informed... More

We stayed at Kipepeo Beach Village Hotel for one night during April 2014. Their huts are quite good, unique and nicely decorated in Swahili traditional style. The huts are about 200 metres from the beach area. The huts are like this, down is bathroom only, and if you climb stairs then you can reach your bedroom and there is a... More

Average campsite. Upgrades for twin beds look nice from the outside but lots of bed bugs and holes in the mosquito nets. Toilets are ok showers are good. Nice view of the beach and good area to swim. Nice and well stocked bar. Good stop over place of Zanzibar.

Came here as a group of 11 at the end of a month long trip in Moshi, Dar and Arusha. The service wasn't good; very slow waiting on/bar staff and quite the stroppy manager. But then again, everywhere we went in Tanzania it was as though time was never an issue and the slow pace was reflected everywhere. The white... More
