This is a beatiful and very cozy Hotel. We stayed there for 2 nights in January and compared to the hotels we stayed at on Zanzibar, this one offered much more of everything. The restaurant at the hotel was the best food we got on our vacation and we went to many different places. The staff is warm and friendly... more

Hello travellers, I have staied at Mediterraneo with my wife in 2004, and we recently returned in May 2009. It is amazing to see how much this place has developed in few years. What makes this hotel unique is the combination of food, ambiance, and the good feeling you can find in this place. The staff of the hotel is... more

This hotel has a great seaside lounge, good food, and a beautiful garden. Its a nice place to chill out. However we were disappointed with the accommodation. We paid 30USD more for a seaside room when you couldn't even see it! It overlooked a pathway and the pool, which is false advertising. Every night at 2am our air conditioner stopped... more

A relaxed and relaxing place. Personal service, nice breece from the sea. Very good Italian food. Nice garden. The only problem is the distance to the city centre , if that is where you need to go. The traffic jams are almost constant in Dar, and it takes a lot of time to get around. In the mornings, we used... more

Walk in. I met Samantar the owner who is fluent in English Italian, Swahili and Somali. I used the restaurant and took part of the party that takes place once a month. It was the best experience ever. Anisa Falco and Mahad Malabow. more

We stayed in 4 different hotels whilst we were in Tanzania and this was definitely the best, particularly given the price and what you get for your money (the rooms are reasonably spacious and they have air-con and a TV). This hotel is not situated in the centre of Dar as it is about half an hour (by taxi) north... more

I feel very lucky and privileged to have enjoyed a fantastic week in Tanzania. My hotel, the Mediterraneo was everything I could have asked for and despite being a little way out of the city centre allowed access to most places within 30 mins. The hotel staff were very helpful and obliging. The food was excellent and the views superb. more

I took a taxi from the city center and the driver had problems finding the location, it is at least a 1 hour drive. The reception staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are mediterranean style however those with garden view are extremely dark which made it necessary to turn on the lights even in daytime. The bath is large... more

I stayed here for a few days before heading to Arusha. The staff were great and the restaurant manager and hotel receptionist did everything possible to make my stay as good as it could be. The rooms are clean, and for Tanzania, they were a good quality. My room had an air conditioning unit which made the first few nights... more
