This place must be the best place to unwind close to dar. The beach is amazing with awesome snorkeling just off the beach. They set up a little beach hide out with a flag for all the couples on the beach to lounge in. In the morning you get waken up with amazing coffee and fresh cookies. The Houses are... more

There is simply nothing bad to say about Ras Kutani. From the moment of our arrival, nothing was too much trouble for the wonderfully friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms are stunning - beautifully designed, using fantastic materials throughout, and furnished with real elegance. I'd recommend asking for one of the lagoon and sea view rooms (rooms 5 to 9)... more

After reading all the reviews, I was keen to stay at Ras Kutani to see what kind of place elicits five stars consistently. Having been there, I realize that it's a combination of things... 1) The natural beauty of the place - a peaceful lagoon, the blue sea, soft beige sands and greenery all around the property. 2) The way... more

We started off our honeymoon with a very relaxing stay at Ras Kutani. We stayed in one of the Upepo suites. Be warned there are 64 steps up to this suite, but when you get there your are in your own little world. There is a private plunge pool and lounge area. The room is huge!! and the bathroom was... more

My daughters and I spent three nights at the Ras Kutani at the end of our two week stay in Africa. It was the perfect transition from the excitment of our travels (gorilla trekking in Rwanda and volunteer work near Arusha, Tanzania) to our return to our "regular" lives in the states. The setting was beautiful, the service impeccable, and... more

On a business trip to Dar from Washington, DC for a major international development organization and accompanied by my wife, we stayed at the Kilimanjaro Kempinski hotel (which I highly recommend). On Saturday we drove with two local friends to the RAS KUTANI resort thinking we could take a look around and have lunch there and maybe take a dip... more

Ras Kutani was the first stop on our honeymoon and we stayed for three days (I wish it had been longer). The staff were excellent and really made you feel genuinely welcome. Nothing was too much trouble! We particularly enyoyed the sun downers. Our room was at the top of the path which give us fantastic views. After leaving Ras... more

This was the last place we stayed on our honeymoon after Cape Town and Zanzibar, and it was truly wonderful. Totally relaxing and very friendly enviroment to laze away long sunny days on the beautiful isolated beach. A real hidden oasis. We even got to see some baby turtles being released into the sea one afternoon right by the hotel...... more

This has a real desert island feel. Arrive by 6 seater plane and rowing boat across the small freshwater lagoon. Deserted beach, no developments nearby, wonderfully relaxed but helpful, friendly service. Nothing to do and all day to do it - bliss! more
