This hotel is located near downtown Dar es Salaam. I have been here several times before for business reasons and most of the time I have had the same problems. First, arrival and then get to hear that there is no room although reservations have been made. It will be OK in the end, but it is not nice to... More

Located conveniently in the downtown of Dar Es Salaam, Peacock is my choice when staying in Dar. Neat rooms with all necessary appliances, a pool (very rare in the downtown hotels!), and delicious food. Breakfast seemed good as well, the fruits are perfect in Tanzania so to be honest I only had those.

I would have to say the staff here were really very helpful and friendly. But the hotel itself just lets itself down with a series of really bad management decisions. For a mainly business hotel, having a live band play every Wednesday night (until after 11pm) is a stupid decision. Even with earplugs I was unable to sleep from the... More

The receptionist ignored us for almost five minutes and was less than friendly when she finally looked our group. There had been a theft from one of our party on our arrival to Tanzania, so at the end of our trip our small group was upgraded to the newly built suites behind the original hotel. Our room lacked a safe... More

The good part of this hotel, is the staff and for Tanzania the price (around USD 95per night inc breakfast). Very friendly and also very helpful . The bar around the pool area is a great place to relax and the other guest were all very friendly. Rooms are good sized. The breakfast was very acceptable as was the location... More

We stayed at the Peacock hotel for 1 night prior to our safari to the southern parks of Tanzania and as a day room after finishing our safari. We had airport transfers included in the stay and both were prompt and there when we needed them to be. As our flights arrived/departed in the middle of the night, traffic was... More

Was here in December 2013, Hotel is ok. The staff are friendly. The food is average. The rooms are okay, didnt like the bathrooms, they are abit too small for my liking and make sure you check the TV, AC, and locker to be sure they work. The best thing about this hotel is that it is close to the market... More

I stayed here for 5 days for a study abroad so I do not know what we paid nor how arrangements went to book, but this hotel was very nice. After traveling to very poor areas in Tanzania this was a surprise to be in such a nice place. We ate dinner each morning at the hotel buffet style and... More

I usually stay in Peacock City Centre when coming to Dar and decided to write a second comment with a more positive feedback on this hotel. The good thiings about the hotel: free WIFI access that works most of the times, nice and spacious clean rooms with safe locker and tea facilities, friendly staff. The water is not always hot,... Hotel is an average one but terribly overpriced for its service; staff was friendly; bathrooms need a huge makeover, wifi pretty poor and food equally poor; pretty noisy as i could hear the people next door, cleaning stuff were making noise at 6:30am; foodwise, they offered certain type of food but after ordering it was something else; if you can...
