I stayed for two nights ahead of a trip to northern Tanzania with my wife. We had actually booked another hotel, but the transfer agent didn't show up at the airport, so we decided to head for another (this) hotel, simply because it was the only hotel name that we could vaguely remember from the travel agent back home. The... more

At $120 a night you expect the best. The room was very nice, with Panoramic views, which would be wonderful if Dar was much to look at. The room has TV, hot water and a comfy bed. It was reasonable. But DO NOT eat here. We ordered room service, and not only did they bring the wrong thing up, it... more

We visited several hotels in downtown Dar in order to book one for when we returned to Dar after a safari. We picked the Peacock as it seemed a middle of the line type hotel. We managed a minor discount, but did not make a booking, as we were unsure of the date we would return. When we knew the... more

I arrived in Dar on the 28th September 2008. A customer of mine book this hotel for my stay. Upon check-in, I realised that my booking was not confirmed, anyway, manage to find a room for a night. This hotel is just off a very busy main road. The room and bathroom are very small but clean enough. I stay... more

Convenient for the airport but not the kind of area where you would want to walk around in the evening. The public areas look OK, quite smart with a 'colonial' feel to them, but, as sometimes happens when booking single rooms, I was allocated a very small, dirty room, with curtains hanging off the rail, shabby looking as though not... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in February 2008. We have never been to Tanzania and stayed in Dar for two nights. The hotel itself was fantastic. It is clean, air conditioned and the welcome was fantastic (our luggage carried, easy check in, and refreshing drinks were given to us). The room and bathroom were very small, but... more

Very disappointing, although we had a reservation, made through [-], in November, 2007, for the night of February 20, 2008, and had a confirmation number 109523531, when we called to arrange shuttle pick up service, the Peacock Hotel staff could not find our reservation information and indeed had problems understanding what we were saying (English). And they said they were... more

What I would call a very basic hotel, you get what you pay for, very clean hotel and all the required facilities, however not to our liking. Due to the location I would not suggest or recommend this hotel. We were very scared to leave the hotel as the kisutu market is a minute away with a lot of rough... more

We stayed one night at the Peacock as we were taking the BA flight out of Dar the following morning. We chose the Peacock partly on the back of tripadvisor reviews stating "quiet", "good food", etc as all we wanted was somewhere reasonably priced to get a good night's sleep without paying for facilities which we would not get to... more

We stayed here for just one night. Room was basic but clean. This hotel is fine if you are just passing through. more
