I have been staying at the Sea Cliff for a couple weeks and find it to be much better then the 3-star ratings that I have seen. Although, some parts are still being worked on, the construction is done in the least intrusive way. I was supposed to move to a 5-star rated downtown hotel and chose to remain at... more

In late Feb 09 we stayed at the very recently reopened and completely rebuilt/renovated Hotel Sea Cliff (aka Sea Cliff Hotel). This new incarnation is not the same as described by earlier reviews. This hotel would rival a 4/5 star hotel anywhere from the spacious lobby wtih lots of seating and intenational newspapers to the rooms with quality bedding, modern... more

I'm sure this was a lovely hotel, before it burned down! Be aware that when you stay at the Seacliff, you are booking a room in the adjoining "village", not at the actual hotel. Although the room is quite nice, it is right in the middle of a little shopping center, so you're window faces directly into a corridor of... more

Sadly I think this hotel (Village Rooms they call it) has seen better days due to cheap fixture, fitting, furniture and finishing. The room was ok size comparing other hotels I have stayed in Dar, not aided by the scaffolding/building work currently going on on the main hotel due to a very big fire the hotel had a few months... more

The drive from the airport in Dar es Salaam is a valuable experience – you learn just what a pearl the Seacliff is and all the many challenges of life in the third world you don’t have to endure while ensconced in the beauty and class on its perch over the Indian Ocean. It really is on a “sea cliff”... more

From the moment I arrived I felt at home. A Masai warrior was at the front desk to greet us. The ocean breeze is fabulous and the setting is perfect. Our room had no balcony or view, so I went to the front desk and they immediately placed me in a better room. The room was fantastic. It was luxurious,... more

Spent a week here on a business trip. Nice hotel with most of the service you can expect. Nice place, but somewhat remote due to its location a little outside of Dar. No access to the beach. more

Simply put this hotel is very poor. I stayed here for work purposes, so I can be thankful that I did not have to pay for the misfortune of this visit. First impressions were great, nice reception area and hotel bar. However this is all just first impressions, once you get past reception you see the true side of this... more

My stay in July 2007 was my second, and I was not disappointed. I had a nice, newly renovated room in the main building, good service, and good food at the Karambezi restaurant. If I was staying in a hotel in Dar again I would definitely choose the Sea Cliff. more

Stayed for 6 nights and was pleasantly suprised. Had low expectations but the rooms, the food and the service were all good. Not five or four star but overall nothing to complain about. The pool is in a beautiful spot to relax and the outdoor pool service is much better than most in dar. more
