Hello everyone, I just arrived Mombasa from Dar. I had booked this hotel online and asked them for an airport pickup. No one recieved me at airport. First time in Africa and quite scared, I took a taxi and arrived the property and found it states "CLOSED" on the main door and all chained and locked! I asked taxi driver... More

This hotel is situated in the most african part of town, close to kariakoo market wich is a must-see! This is an area that is not safe after sunset, but charming. The rooms is tiled, the beds is alright, a bit damp. IT has what you need. The staff is fabulous! Friendly and compitent! I could go back just for... More

Stayed at the Juba on 2 occasions on the 1 trip. The night we landed plus the next night, then 10 days later when we returned from zanzibar to head to Mombassa. Lets not be mistaken the juba is basic & old, but clean & friendly. The wifi is good (for Africa) & there was always a member of staff... More

While the area may not be the safest in Dar, it is certainly lively and interesting. We had no problems in the area and everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming. The accommodations are basic but there are flushing toilets which is fabulous. No hot water but very good wifi in the rooms. We had no problems with bugs... More

We arrived at this hotel after a long flight from Australia. It was not really clean, the hot water didn't work and at night it's very very noisy-loud chanting, street fights and feral dogs. Despite this after going to Moshi and returning to Dar, we stayed here again. (Must've been the cheap price) this time it was even louder all... More

I stayed here for 2 nights and was pretty satisfied. My room was on the 3rd or 4th floor. Somehow I never saw one mosquito in my room. The place is pretty hot, but the a/c turned on around 9 or 10 pm so you can sleep pretty comfortably. Showers are lukewarm/cool, but after being in africa for 3 weeks... More

The best thing about the hotel is the staff, all of whom are very helpful. The rooms are basic but clean, although a little hot. Breakfast is included at the attached restaurant which also serves nice lunch and dinner. The location is ok although it doesn't seem very safe to walk anywhere after dark.

We've been so disappointed. The service personal was unfriendly, the room wasn't clean, the mosquito net had a lot of holes --> useless, and the bathroom door was completely mouldy. The whole place seems rotten.

Juba Hotel lies in the Kariakoo district of Dar Es Salaam. A fairly central, but shabby part of the city. Even though the surroundings do not seem to be among the safest, the hotel is a secure place to stay on a stopover. It is not a place that I would choose to stay for a longer period of time.... More

We stayed for 3 days and we did like the place. Not like it was Hilton or anything, but you wouldn't hate it. Great staff (seemed to know English better than most people) and above all great atmosphere.
