If you come early enough on a Sunday morning (11AM) this place is perfect to enjoy a reviving splash in the pool with my 4 year old, who also enjoyed the nearby play corner. By 3PM though the place becomes pretty crowded noisy. Service is good, but the food we had was just average. The setting is perfect, but someone... More

Having stayed at the Giraffe Ocean View Hotel for 10 days with my Wife and 16 Month old Daughter, I can do nothing but praise the Giraffe Ocean View Hotel Staff for their friendly manner and helpful service. The Giraffe Ocean View Hotel whilst we were there was in the process of renovating all of it's rooms and we saw... More

I stayed here while attending a conference in this same hotel. I was immediately struck by the musty smell of the room. There was no hot water, there was no safe, and the balcony doors would not lock. When informed, the staff did nothing about the safe or the doors (I didn't mention the water). You can do much better... More

I spent ten glorious days at this beautiful beach hotel with my partner. Had a wonderful room facing the magical Indian ocean, I really enjoyed watching the sunrise. Breakfast was very good, lots of options. Very clean swimming pool, and clean towles all the time. Staff very friendly and excellent service. Dinner at the pier was heavenly. Threw a surprise... It is by the beach, so you get the sea breeze while you take breakfast, which is quite good. Food is in general abundant and tasty, either at breakfast or if you order at the restaurant (on the beach). The rooms are spacious, they have almost everything you need (except for ironing trousers) if you're in business, like I was... More

We stayed at the Giraffe ocean view hotel despite the negative trip advisor reviews. There was an exhibition in Nairobi of places to stay over 2013 Christmas holidays and one of the stands was this hotel. The Mombasa Kenyan hotels during Christmas had advertised double or even triple their normal daily rates hence were expensive. The price of this beach... More

I came to this magnificent resort as part of the conference delegates last year, 2012, was able to see the "power of the nature"-in every morning one could see huge pileup of ocean seaweeds on the beach side of the hotel, astonishingly!, when the sun gets down, non of the seaweed is there- everything has been washed-away with ocean currents!.... Sometimes I just do not get it. Business owners build fantastic resorts with jetty's, great ocean view, great seating and then disaster strikes. Mismanaged, careless staff, tasteless food. What a shame to spill all that money into the sea... I use to come here with my kids to swim and have a meal, but the last time I noticed that... More

I've been here for several conferences. The conference facilities are decent, the food adequate, and - if it is open - the outdoor restaurant on a jetty off the beach is unique. But the whole place is somewhat run down, the rooms lack air conditioning, and they tried to charge me $100 for a $20 taxi ride to town.

We stayed for only one night and that was more than enough. No wifi access in our room, no hot water in the morning and the birds are enjoying more than us the breakfast buffet. When we went for breakfast, birds and flies were all over the place and picking directly in the plates. We finally decided to move to... More
