Slipway has its highlights and its lowlights. Highlights are cleanliness, seaview, location, breakfast and pool. Lowlights are some inflexibility at the reception, small rooms, pricey, no particular charme. We arrived without booking and were shown two rooms, standard and economy (cheaper, no seaview). We payed the USD20 extra for the seaview (but a bit more noisy) and didn't regret it.... More

Stayed here for 2 nights, whilst attending a wedding. Clean rooms and the cost seemed reasonable. The breakfasts were good, if a bit haphazard. - but TIA! Good facilities with a supermarket and curio shops on the ground floor outside.

There are now many good hotels min Dar-Es-Salaam, Slipway is not one of them. Overpriced and the only thing going for it is the location, however there are other hotels of similar price and better quality nearby

We are trying to get some more specific information from the writer of this review regarding his experience at Hotel Slipway. It may help us address certain issues. While the perception of quality is based on an individual's judgement and personal experience and hence cannot be challenged pricing is very measurable. The fact is that there is no hotel in... More

We spent 3 nights at Slipway. The staff were amazing, the room was clean. The hotel is situated right at the waterfront area with shopping, taxis, tuk-tuks all available. The breakfast was super. We would stay here again without hesitation. There were quite a few people staying in this hotel as they were attending a wedding in Dar. The staff... More

Good food, good service, nice people and a pleasant environment on the Indian Ocean. Cost is reasonable. I've been there three times this year and I'm going again in September. I stayed there because we were heading to(from) Zanzibar. The hotel is inside of shopping complex building where you can find a supermarket, an money exchange, small restaurants (bit overpriced though), souvenir shops, etc. The complex is near by the sea-shore, so you can even enjoy watching a sunset. It is very convenient because you do not have to go... More

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend recently, on our way to a flight back to Europe. Often when we stay in Dar the choice seems to be between an overpriced cheap hotel and a really overpriced expensive one. This place seems to be somewhere in between. The location is great, out on the Peninsula, and the prices... More

Nightmare taxi ride through Dar es Salaam at rush hour, with roads being repaired, I was ready to expect the worst. It was thrilling to be welcomed, shown to our room and told we could ask for help at any time. The room was great, with the welcoming relief of air-conditioning and everything you could expect of a class hotel.... More

We stayed here overnight on route to safari park. Hotel was clean and well run with friendly staff. Facilities, in hotel shops and local restaurants all easily accessible and reasonably priced, would recommend Waterfront restaurant for an evening meal Only down side is horrendous traffic in Dar, short journey from airport can take up to 3 hours !

I had a bad experience with this hotel because the room I was given was not the one that was booked. The room was smelling of food and I could not sleep because there was some light coming from the hall through a glass window at the upper part of the door. Some of the staff was not friendly. The...
