My wife and I recently stayed at the Slipway hotel on 31 October 2014 for two nights prior to beginning a three week service program in a rural village south of Iringa. We have stayed here at the beginning and end of several previous service trips. The Slipway is a great hotel to begin a Tanzania visit. The rooms are... More

This is a great place to stay in modest rooms for the price. However the terrace and swimming pool area are really special and the good is outstanding. I had the best prawn dish I have ever had on the first evening. The slipway is more than a hotel with its own shopping centre and plenty of curio and carvings... More

My company stays at Slipway often. I had the unfortunate experience of staying in a room near the current renovation work and it really ruined my stay. They started with hammers and saws at 6:30am and didn't stop until 10:30pm (which was only after I called the front desk to complain). The internet also didn't work in my room and... More

The hotel is located in the middle of a shopping centre which is convenient for a short term business traveler, however the noise was definitely a problem. On certain days of the week there was music and a bar nearby which fed noise into the hotel rooms. The walls are also quite thin so you can hear anyone talking, walking,... More

When I think back to the several times I stayed at Slipway in the last couple of months, the main thing I remember is the breakfasts!! It really is out of this world - wow! Fresh fruits of every kind, madafu (coconut juice), lovely muesli, different types of bread of high quality etc etc. Otherwise, it is a nice hotel... More

Stayed here while waiting out the long hours between local and international flights. Hotel is located in an interesting area with restaurants, shopping and activities to while away the time. Room is very clean, but rather outdated- although the air conditioning works well. No elevators, and rooms are 2-3 storeys up so you or the staff will be hauling bags.... More

The location is very good -- near shops and restaurants in the well-recognized Slipway center. Great place for meeting people for business, as I had to do. The beds and rooms were clean and well maintained, and the folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Main benefits are the price (good buffet breakfast with omelet chef) and location.... My husband and I stayed here in June for a few nights and will definitely be back! We did experience a few problems - no internet for 2 of the 4 days, they mixed up our laundry with someone else's, then we received our laundry that had iron burns, and the aircon didn't work the day we arrived - but... I didn't stay at the hotel but visited the Terrace restaurant. It was busy with hotel guests and the setting in great alongside the hotel pool. I sat at the bar to eat - the circular bar looks great. I ordered a drink and dinner - steak with veg. About 40 minutes later (drink well gone) I queried the expected... More

We stopped here for just over 12 hours after flying in from London before flying on to safari. We were met at the airport as promised and made our way across town. We checked in with ease although they asked us how long we were staying rather than knowing even though it was pre booked. The hotel was clean and... More
