Pension palace has got to be a misnomer. This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed - and I have stayed in some pretty terrible places. I suppose it depends what you're looking for, the Petit Socco is never going to be glamourous. Pension Palace sits on the corner of the square. Ave Mokhtar Aharden runs downhill to the port. It is easy to find on foot, and creates a real feeling of having stepped back in time. I stayed here over the Easter holiday 2013.... More

I arrived late in Tangier, around 7:30 pm, so I went straight to this hotel in the heart of the old city. The room was not so bad, but it was impossible to use the shared bathrooms. They had a foul smell that made move to another hotel the next morning...

Sorry but this place is not save....I have travelled alot but never seen anything like this. The hotel owner told us they would lock the doors at midnight. Still somebody broke in our room and stole everything doing our sweet sleep. What a mess to wake up to....And the big issue was that they used a key to get in,... More

Near the Petit Socco, a grand entrance-way off the street, classy front desk, and the postage-stamp sized courtyard is a nice touch. However, it's cheap (Dh70 single) and very basic accommodation with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are stuffy and stale, a sink in every room, toilets in the building next door, hot showers (Dh10) nearby, but it's safe... More
