The arrival was pleasant. The receptionist initially sweet. When we came back in the evening and wanted to take a shower, the bathroom flooded. We then noticed the bathroom was slimy, moldy and dirty. You had to stand on a dirty moldy wooden plank among murky waters since the water did not drain well. We complained to the receptionist and... more

I really cannot believe that there are people who could find anything negative to say about this place. My husband and I just finished a five-week holiday in Morocco, Italy and Spain. Dar El Batoul in Rabat was by far my favorite place. We stayed only four nights and I find myself still wishing to go back "home" to Dar... more

I am quite surprise to read negative reviews about this Riad and owner. That's why I decided to write. We (3 women) stayed in Dar Al Batoul 2 nights and enjoyed it. They have different types of rooms. Our rooms were connected to each other and were clean, with nice decoration. It is true that you can not lock your... more

We were mugged on our last night staying there, only a couple of hundred metres from the riad. There were a number of locals around all of whom looked the other way. The riad isn't in the best part of Rabat. I would suggest anyone going to Rabat stays in the new town where there is much more going on.... more

The building was nice, but the first room we were shown to contained two tiny single beds. The staff didn't speak English or French and had no idea what to do so rang the owner who was fantastically rude to me on the phone, but did grudgingly change the room. The following day I wanted some help in hiring a... more

We could not wait to move on with the rest of our journey. Room was of the same standard I have found in hostels. The location was not good. The assistance from staff was non-existent at any time. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. In summary: over-priced for what is advertised. more

We did not enjoy our stay here. While the Riad is beautiful, the room was just Ok. A lot of decoration, but not updated for some time. And the staff did not speak any English at all and even when we tried to ask for a receipt in broken French and they seemed to understand, we still got nothing. The... more

LOCATION - 4 Hotel is located on the western end of the medina, near the sea and the Kasbah. There are enough public parking areas nearby. ROOMS - 4 Rooms are very small, but nice and clean, all but one face into the courtyard. You can’t lock the rooms from outside. So there is not much privacy. There is neither... more

Dar Al Batoul is a lovely place - a real gem on the outer edges of the Rabat medina, close to the Qasba des Oudaias, the river, and the sea. The riad itself is a gorgeous place, done up in not-so-traditional colors and with each room having its own color scheme, name, and vibe. It is remarkably low-key - it... more

We only stayed for two nights at the Riad and overall enjoyed our stay. The riad is in a Moroccan palace and has very beautiful features like mosiacs and stained glass. The rooms are individually decorated and comfortable. Our only complaint was that the service was pretty low key - we were lucky to get a 'Good Morning'! But we... more
