The palais Didi is a beautiful old palace, and the decor is right out of 1001 night. Also, it is located in a tranquil corner, yet within easy walking distance from the city center. The people working in the hotel are very helpful and service is reasonable. I am sure that in summer and spring it must be a delightful... more

As indicated in other reviews they don't take credit cards--but they won't tell you that up front--their credit card machine isn't working when you check out. When you pay cash to leave most likely you'll get into a half hour conversation negotiating exchange rates (they like to start at about 65% of the normal exchange rates). This process includes a... more

Lovely hotel, but we were surprised when it came time to pay, since Fodor's says they take credit cards, and they didn't warn us when we booked. So if you stay here, you need to plan in advance and make a few trips to the ATM to be ready. I would otherwise recommend the hotel, but it was a big... more

My holiday in Morocco has left a lasting impression on me. Palais Didi, the place where we stayed in the old imperial city of Meknes, has a character and an ambience that exudes warmth and excitement. I loved every inch of it; from the quiet courtyard with its exquisite fountain, superbly plastered ceilings, elaborate wood carvings, original beamed bedrooms with... more

We just stayed at Palais Didi for 4 nights - my wife and myself with our two daughters (7 and 9). It was such a pleasant experience for our girls - a real Moroccan palace in the beautiful historic part of Meknes! The hotel is very charming and peaceful even though it is just a few yards from the action... more

The options are limited in Meknes, so perhaps this is still the best bet in town. However, the suites are a bit frayed around the edges, the television didn't work, the windows need shutters to block the light from the courtyard, and the bathroom had a slight sewer smell. The parking attendants also charge exhorbinant rates (by Moroccan standards), although... more

We spent 4 nights in this amazing palace. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to one of the 4 suites which are set around a cool tiled patio. Most of the time we were the only guests in this Moroccan jewel! A very filling and traditional breakfast was served to us personally at a time we chose on the... more
