This Riad is of high quality. The interior has a traditional Moroccan feel, with many artisan pieces used to create a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. There are 12 rooms so this Riad has an intimate/family feel to it. We stayed in the 'Marrakech' family suite and this was perfect for our needs. The room was spacious and airy with a... More

My best friend and I took a short four day trip to Marrakech and stayed at Palais Riad Calipau. I had read quite a few reviews before i left and was a bit nervous about what i'd find before i got there because some people had unnecessarily complained about the tiniest things which in reality didn't make much difference at... I thought the place seemed very clean and comfortable however can be hard to find when you first arrive through the alleyways. I was pleased by the cleanliness of the room and the maids came and cleaned it everyday however the staff was awful and rude! Be warned if you are from a South Asian background you will be treated... First thing to remember when visiting Morocco it is in North Africa and standards aren't as high as in Europe or the US. Having said that the Palais Calipau really is an oasis of calm hidden in the centre of the old city. Its about 150 yard walk from the road where the taxi's drop you and as we had... More

I hated Marrakesh, I won't beat about the bush. It was filthy, it stank and it was like stepping back in time. However, Riad Palais Calipau was an oasis amidst the craziness of the Medina. Don't even consider driving there with a rental car as this property is on a side street and is down a tiny back alley. It... More

Abdul and his staff make this riad special. It's just like it is in the photos. It's easy to get to the main square and surprisingly you don't get lost. It's very relaxed here, the pool is lovely, not heated and initially cold when you first get in but then you warm up and it's lovely. Everyone here is chilled... More

This place is not a hotel it's a traditional riad and this should be embraced as one. We had a wonderful time here and particularly enjoyed the pool and seating area to hang out in. Great location and we felt safe even late at night. We paid a bargain price to stay here and glad we did so. Selma and... More

This place was great, superfriendly staff, huge room (over 30sqm), 2 sinks, 2 showers, pool, rooftop terrace and rooftopshower, situated in very lively and safe area at all times (we were 3 girls). The hallways smelled amazing and the multilungual building manager offered us great advice and accomodated our special requests (early breakfast, alcohol). Would stay here again

My time in the riad was a beautiful experience. The warm welcoming from the staffs was excellent and overwhelming. Selma the Manager made sure all needs were met to the best standard. She was very helpful and welcoming and would help with any query that we asked of. Abdul who was one of the staff was exceptional. He was so... More
