When I was planning my trip, everybody told me I was crazy, because I was going to Marrakech alone. But at Riad Zara, I felt totally safe with all the amazing tips that Monique gave to me, while we were drinking a delicious mint tea at the terrace of the riad, by the moment I arrived. The place is amazing,... more

We were three women in our 40's who spent a week in Marrakech (7.-14. Nov) and we stayed at Riad Zara. It is a very nice and beautifully decorated Riad, about 20 min walk from the main square, Djeema el Fna. When we came on a Saturday evening it was allready dark, so we spent the evening at the Riad.... more

Easily the cheapest riad that we stayed in during our trip around Morocco, however this does mean some differences. Our room was on the ground floor. While cosy, it did mean that we could hear everything that was said in the courtyard. The ensuite was fine, though not spotless. Water pressure was an issue most times we tried to shower.... more

5/5. great place! owner monique was incredibly helpful. she gave us great tips for marrakesh, organised agreat trip to the mountains, and made us feel very welcome. it was nice to be nearer the edge of the medina as on our way to the square every day we got to wander through some less touristy 'real' parts of marrakesh. monique... more

An absolutely wonderful place to stay - friendly and clean with friendly staff and the trip to the Mountains was unforgetable. I would recommend Riad Zara time and again to anyone. The only very small problem was that its location about 15 minutes from the city centre . . . but then walking around Marrakech is one of its greatest... more

a cozy restored riad in the northern end of the medina, easily accessible by taxi from the Bab Aylen Medina Gate, a bit trickier to always find your way back through the souk, but doable; good value for money, staff is very helpful in helping plan / organize your stay and possible trips out of town if need be; best... more

very friendly and helpful staff with clean and comfortable rooms with oodles of character, a beautiful courtyard and secluded terrace. we stayed in 2 different rooms because we were a bit late booking. one of which was spacious and would have been very romantic had we been that way inclined. the other was a little small considering my preference for... more

Me and my gilfriend stay 3 nigths in this Riad, inside de Medina of Marrakech. We were very well received by people of the riad, wich gave us good tips about Marrakech. The Riad is very near of one of the gates of the Medina, wich is good to parking the car. To go from the riad to the central... more

My partner and I stayed in Riad Zara for 3 nights in June and really enjoyed the experience. Visiting Marrakesh was excellent, but staying in Riad Zara was an experience in itself. The room (Aisha) was beautiful, if you don't mind going up a ladder to go to sleep. Monique, the French owner, is very friendly and attentive, but casual... more
