We spent our first four nights in Morocco at Riad Alaka in Marrakech. It is a small place with a real 'family feel' – welcoming, friendly and comfortable in a way that introduced us to the quiet charm of the country. Rooms were amply sized with good sized bathrooms. Efficient airconditioning (necessary as Marrakech is already heating up in early... More

We love this place. We stayed there 5 nights and had two rooms. The riad is charming and quaint. There are just a few rooms, and we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, nice, and have plenty of room. The roof terrace and common areas are also nice. For us, the... More

A very tastefully refurbished riad near Bab Doukala (200 m from the place where a taxi can drop you). You have to cross the dirtiest but very colourful souk of Marrakesh, Derb Fatimah Zohra. The staff is very friendly and helpfull but their advice and choice of restaurants is quite traditional and tedious so don't hesitate to make your own... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was almost perfect. It's a really quiet riad close to all the fun... Breakfast was good and the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly. When you are visiting Marrakesh i would certainly recommend you to stay here. The only improvement i can come up with is wifi reception... More

I can't rate this place more highly - what a wonderful introduction to our first visit to Morocco. We arrived around 10am, via airport pickup which was organised by Riad Alaka just hours after we'd booked just a couple of months prior to our visit. The nice driver lead us through a small market, down a long alley dotted with... More

The riad lies in a quiet little alley in the medina. After the hectic pace and the noise of the city "coming home" to the peace and quiet of the riad and beeing greeted by Aziz, the soul of the place, felt sooo good. The dishes Aziz prepares with love and great skills are outstandingly delishes. As soon as the... More

This Riad is in the old medina, near an orienting landmark of a major mosque. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere peaceful and relaxing. We only wish we could have stayed longer in the Riad,Marrakech and Morocco.

Experienced relaxation from the minute we arrived at the Riad. Aziz welcomed us with fresh mint tea.....a drink to be had many times during our day...and was always equally tasty. We just loved the entire aura of the Riad. Great lounging areas around a centered open courtyard with a lovely pool.(I guess this is the central theme of a Riad)... More

This riad was beautiful and VERY clean. Aziz made us feel right at home. The riad was just a 15 minute walk away from Djemaa el fna. We stayed during the week of New Years Eve and Marrakech can get cold in the evenings in the December/January time frame...however, this riad had more than adequate heating. If I ever go... More

Aziz is a welcoming and charming host and this riad is very quiet and comfortable yet still very close to the centre of the old town. Lovely bathrooms with plentiful hot water and Aziz will always cook dinner as well as providing endless supplies of mint tea. Nothing is too much trouble. One tiny criticism - breakfast a little monotonous.... More
