Our stay at Dar Anika was a highlight of our honeymoon. The hotel epitomises small but perfectly formed. It is impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and ideally located. Outside the cool, calm riad, it’s a short stroll through bustling and intoxicating streets to any of the main attractions, including Djemma El Fna. The riad has all the luxuries you could want... more

I marked the rooms high because we were shown around and everything was beautiful, but we actually went for a cooking lesson while staying somewhere else in Marrakesh. It was a brilliant day, from going to the market and picking our chicken (vegetarian options were available!) then to the fruit market and a glass of wine while we were talked... more

we stayed for 4 nights in a lovely riad with only 7 rooms ,just 400 metres from the major souk in the city where it all happens for the locals: the open air restaurants, water sellers, snake chamers, fortune tellers, toothpullers(dentists) ,story tellers, male dancers, over loaded donkeys , manic scooter traffic , orange stalls, toy trains with george bush chasing... more

My husband and I are just back from a perfect vacation in Morocco and our stay at Dar Anika was a big part of the perfection. It's location is great - a 5 minute walk from Jemaa el Fna. The rooms are lovely, and the food is terrific, but the big draw for us was the hospitality. Nigel and Di,... more

We stayed at Dar Anika for 3 nights in April 09. The English managers, Nigel and Diane, were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The rest of the staff are also charming, efficent and helpful. We had a large room with a very nice bathroom and all usual accoutrements. They serve lunches and dinners by request, the lunch we had was... more

We have travelled widely and stayed in a wide range of places. We thought Dar Anika was just right. It is a smallish place, with a range of rooms and a pleasant central courtyard. There is a roof terrace and a tent on the roof if it is too hot in the sun. It is an unpretentious refuge from the... more

We stayed in the Riad Dar Anika after spending a few days walking in the Atlas mountains. We got a wonderful welcome from Nigel and Diane, who immediately made us feel at home. We had a suite on the upper floor which was very spacious, with a good sized bathroom. The breakfasts were good, with fresh juice and great French... more

My fabulous friends surprised with a long weekend in Marrakesh for my hen party and i was really impressed with their choice of Riad. Diane, Nigel and their colleagues at Dar Anika made sure our group of 10 relaxed from the moment we arrived - mint tea and fresh orange juice on arrival, saving us from the self-appointed porters(!), arranging... more

Marrakech is hectic, noisy, colourful, loud and teeming with people, donkey carts, hand carts and mopeds. What more could you want then than to step through a carved door (smiling at the mint seller permanently pitched outside) into an oasis where your every need is met immediately but discreetly. Where breakfast is served on the roof terrace while you watch... more
