Lovely big riad in the Medina. I had a lovely, large room - fairly basic but great comfy bed - and the whole place is colourful and airy. Showers sometimes unwilling or cold, but great breakfasts included. Initially, the girl on reception was a bit frosty, but the son made up for this by volunteering to drive me to several... more

We (my husband, 11 year son and I) stayed here for 3 nights in October. Found it on this site and although there are mixed reviews on this site, thought we would give it a try as we wanted to stay right in the souks. We have been to Marrakesh previously and stayed in a shabby riad and thought that... more

I strongly recommend The Ryiad Amssafah, the staff was friendly and aboce all very helpful (I can mention Karima's name in reception). Located right in the heart of the Medina, you are also very close to the souks and the Place Jama El Fnaa. You are in the heart of the Morrocan city but beware of the thugs and of... more

This riad was rated as 4-star by our local airline through whom we had booked the package. Whilst charmingly decorated in Moroccan style and conveniently located only 10 minutes' walk from the main square, we felt it was really more of a 3-star place. Painted double wooden doors opened up to our bedroom, which was a long, narrow, rather dark... more

My wife and I have just returned after 4 nights at Riad Amsaffah. For starters, the place is not 1*, let alone 4*.. I don`t know how hotels are rated in Morocco and why Riad Amsaffah was supposedly awarded 4 stars- the best way to describe it would be as a passable family run B & B and not a... more

Got this riad by booking a package (with flight) through lastminute.com. My wife and I went with some friends in Dec 08 and this was our first booking through last minute and it all worked well. We were pleasantly surprised with the Riad. It's a bit far from the main square (15 minute walk) through the souks and it's easy... more

Booked via Travel Republic. The travel agency rep is MTS - rep is called Hammet. nice guy. There are a few trips which you should definately go to. Staff are friendly though yes, as with other reviews - Aziz does ask out right for a tip. This is considered normal - however, none of the other staff asked for tips... more

We arrived by taxi, and the driver did not know where the riad was located. The location is in a maze within the Souk. I would say that you definitely should organise a transfer from the airport as part of a package. The porter 'Aziz' asked for money / tips at every opportunity (help with our bags, fixing leaks in... more

Well located Riad .(once you get your bearings) The initial walk to the jemma el fna square is a little bit daunting; the biggest culture shock my partner and I ever had.But the locals are mostly friendly. Do be prepared for a step back in time though as well as a few sorry sights. The Riad itself really is an... more

All i can say is my wife & i are glad we booked this place , it was the first we came across , we were tempted by other hotels outside the medina ,plusher ,grander etc.also other riads in not such run down areas,... more
