Just returned from three nights at Riad Catalina, it is a traditional Morrocan Riad in a brilliant location. Probably only a 5 minute walk from the main square. Rooms were clean and staff very plesant. Not the biggest bed or shower room in the world but as we were only staying for a few nights this wasn't a problem. We... More

+ve - traditional experience, exotic rooms. Walking distance to all main sights. Fluffiest towels in the world. -Ve: poor pool, AWFUL BREAKFAST! Dog hanging around. Poor wi-fi signal. Unexcited customer service.

This is a great little Riad with traditional Moroccon decor. It made a lovely change from the modern chain hotels and had real character. The guy on reception was extremely helpful with restaurants and directions - it's easy to get lost in the Medina. The bar man was very pleasant and efficient. The only downside was that one of the... A great little Riad with lovely rooms. Service from the waiting staff could have been a little more attentive at times and the food was average. The Management Team were very helpful but double check the price of anything they offer to book for you before committing. As with a large number of Riads, Catalina is not the easiest to... More

This was truly a haven from the hubbub of the milling crowds of the main souks and busy side streets. The souks were fun, but as you know (!) you'll have to haggle, it's expected and you would be disappointing the shopkeeper if you didn't do so with a little conviction! The food stalls in the evening were good, but... More

Stayed at Riad Catalina in Oct, for 4 nights with my friends, lovely staff, rooms nice and clean, beautiful courtyard, great location. Rooms are small, shower room/wc tiny (not enough room to swing a cat) They only have double beds no twin . The plunge pool on the roof is great for relaxing with a glass of champagne after a... I booked this riad for my very first night in Marrakesh. Worried about arriving late, I chose something central and easy to get to. Well, as visitors will soon find out, medinas are not as straight forward and looking for an address on your own is tricky. You will definitely need one of your many (pay for) friends that you'll... We really liked this riad. Rooms are not very big but quite charming and with nice local decoration. The riad is especially beautiful for its inner garden (riad) where you can relax and take meals, drinks etc. The small pool on the roof is really a pleasant extra. Staff was helfpul and friendly. Simple but exquisite was also the traditional... More

I stayed here with my sister for five nights in April 2009 and were thoroughly spoiled. The Riad Catalina has all the facilities you'd expect from a modern hotel but retains traditional features like a tiled courtyard with central fountain, a wonderful salon next to the reception and old fashioned courtesy from all the staff. The food was very good... More
