we stayed here in may 2012.for a few days with Thompson before going on to essouria. we walked down the alley ways looking rather scared and worried about what we had booked ourselves into...suddenly the heavy door opened and we were in a cool leafy courtyard with beautiful tiles, fountain, hige trees and birds singing, it was cool and tranquil... We booked our room on the Internet and the picture looked great! However when we arrived we were told they only had 1 small room left in the main building. They then offered to show us a room in the annex down the alley. We had a look but it was disappointing and there was no garden or courtyard and... More

We came (father & teenage son) for a break over Christmas and New Year. We were looking for something different and a more authentic Moroccan experience. It was certainly that! The room was small - we asked for twin beds, and we got them. At least 6 inches between them (which meant the room was even smaller) and quite tight... More

We booked our stay at the Riad Catalina after doing extensive research and reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Firstly as a group of 3 girls in our early 30s we were not impressed and somewhat surprised when our taxi driver dropped off on the main road and pointed that the Riad Catalina was down a side street. As we... More

This is my 2nd visit to the Riad Catalina and the service gets better, My last visit was over 2 years ago and the friendly staffed remembered me which was unexpected, the service at this Riad is exceptional and very personalised, they can't do enough for you! We stayed here in September. The Riad is lovely and the peaceful courtyard is a great place to escape from the manic streets. The staff were all fantastic. Our room wasn't the biggest hotel room ever but after reading some of the reviews on here I was pleasantly surprised by the size. Loved the bathroom. We also ate here one... More

We were met from our airport transfer by Jusef who took our bags and led the way down a handful of allies to Riad Catalina in the Medina. This is such a pretty Riad and all I had dreamed of in regard to traditional Moroccan decor. Built around a gorgeous peaceful centre courtyard with luscious trees and palms the terracotta... More

After what felt like a very cramped and long Thompson flight we were not quite sure what to expect from our Riad. We were welcomed late in the night with mint tea in a beautiful candle lit courtyard. The climb up three flights of stairs felt like a mission but once climbed it was worth it. Our room shared a... More

Arrived tired after night flight. Walked down narrow streets and wondered if we would get lost. But no problem. The Catalina is fantastic and a true Riad. The bedroom was fantastic ,although traditional. The food was out of the world, the flavours were brilliant, wish I could copy them.Just a short walk from the amazing square and the souk.A great base to see Marakesh.

We booked a week here through Thomson, arriving late at night. Only about 20 mins car journey from airport. Welcomed with mint tea and shown to our rooms. Breakfasts were good, bread, butter, cheese, cakes, pastries, jams fruit and yoghurts, tea/coffee and orange juice. We had room 204. There isn't a huge lot of room around the bed, but it... More
