We really liked this riad. Rooms are not very big but quite charming and with nice local decoration. The riad is especially beautiful for its inner garden (riad) where you can relax and take meals, drinks etc. The small pool on the roof is really a pleasant extra. Staff was helfpul and friendly. Simple but exquisite was also the traditional... more
I stayed here with my sister for five nights in April 2009 and were thoroughly spoiled. The Riad Catalina has all the facilities you'd expect from a modern hotel but retains traditional features like a tiled courtyard with central fountain, a wonderful salon next to the reception and old fashioned courtesy from all the staff. The food was very good... more
We stayed at the Riad Catalina - and I say after coming from the Riad Fes we were a little spoiled! But this is a great hotel - I think it is a great location - not too far from the main square and not difficult to find. The patio is beautiful and there are lots of birds and turtle... more
I thought this place was beautiful. I do agree with some previous reviews that the rooms are a little small, but ours was always spotless and the bathroom was lovely. The courtyard is a haven and stunning - though the thousands of sparrows living in the tree make a racket at dusk. Breakfast was delcious and varied every day with... more
The pluses: The staff were helpful, they tried really hard to make up for all of the problems we faced. The courtyard was beautiful. The location was great. The minuses: Tiny rooms. Uncomfortable beds. Dirty bathroom. We had to have our room switched. The dog who lives there makes the restaurant and lobby bathroom smell. And he peed in the... more
A most charming, spotless, luxurious riad ever. Nadia and her staff were friendly, polite.and made us feel part of the Catalina "family" .The location was perfect, the alleyway with all the little cats, snoozing in the sun, was very close to the Bab mansour gate, and easy to navigate. We had the Royal Suite-(I think everyone does!), - just superb.... more
First trip to Marrakech and we were absolutely delighted with our stay at the Riad Catalina. The charming Nadia was a mine of information and the staff couldn't be more helpful. A great place to return to from especially from the manic goings on in the Jemaa. Beautiful surroundings just to sit and watch the birds, the tortoises and Charlie... more
We stayed at Riad Catalina from Nov 28th to Dec 12th 2008. On arrival we were upgraded to the Royal Suite which is beautiful, decorated in the style of the Badia Palace and had so much space that deciding which parts to use was our first job! The Riad made the holiday as it is so different from featureless Modern... more
I have just returned from a week staying at Riad Catalina with my sister. Can only sing the praises of the riad, Nadia and the staff . Nothing was too much trouble, they were always on hand to help. and everything was clean. We were very surprised and lucky to be upgraded to the Royal Suite, which was fantastic, though... more
