Taxi from airport took us as close as possible to Riad El Zohar - then a man with a barrow took our cases the rest of the way . We had a very warm welcome when we arrived, mint tea and an explanation of where to find our way around with a map. Our room was very comfortable and had... More

We had a fabulous week in Morocco - a perfect midwinter break in the sun. Allan and his team provide a warm and friendly welcome. The three hundred year old Riad is beautifully decorated with lots of exotic Moroccan touches. Allan showed great attention to detail and was unendingly helpful and kind, including helping us to find our bearing in... More

We had a lovely and comfortable time here two years ago and returned for a short winter break. It was as lovely as the first time. The owner and staff cannot do enough to make you comfortable and whether you want to lounge or explore there are plenty of ideas and places to keep you going. This time I did... More

Alan and Malika are amazing hosts and this was by far my favourite place to stay in Marrakech. The Riad is authentic and the girls cook great home made recipes passed down from their mothers and grandmothers. Whilst other Riads can feel like hotels, this felt like home from home.. As a Riad should. My fondest memories are sitting reading... More

We have just spent a delightful few days at El Zohar. It was our first visit to Marrakesh and our senses were overwhelmed by the colours, sounds and perfumes that permeate very corner of the Medina. Alan,Melika and all the staff couldn't be more helpful. Alan put an app on my phone so that we wouldn't get lost. We did,... More

I have just read the current eloquently written reviews on Trip Advisor and I can identify with all of the comments. Myself and my husband spent such a happy three nights at El Zohar. We found it on Trip Advisor and made our own individual travel arrangements. However, Allan, the riad owner, arranged our taxi from Marrakech Airport to the... More

It's not just the beauty of this historic riad, it's not just its position right in the centre of the Medina, two minutes walk from the souks and five from the main square and yet in the quietest of backstreets, it's not the lavish decoration and careful preservation of its five bedrooms, its courtyard and reception rooms, not its lovely... We were met from our taxi and followed our luggage on a hand cart through the narrow streets to the Riad. From our arrival and until we left the hospitality from Allan and the team was second to none, it's like staying with your favourite uncle. Nothing was too much hassle, the information and tips about Marrakech are invaluable, it's... More

I visited Marrakech for the first time in June with my 9 girlfriends to celebrate my 40th birthday and chose to stay at the Riad El Zohar. Everything about the Riad was superb, from the tastefully decorated rooms, the refreshing plunge pool, the rooftop terraces, the delicious food and copious amounts of mint tea and best of all Allan, our... I travelled to Marrakech with a group of friends, we arrived at Riad El Zohar early evening and were warmly greeted by Allen the owner. After the initial shock of Marrakech traffic and the hustle and bustle of the streets outside, this Riad immediately conveyed a sense of cool and calm which was most welcome. The Riad is very well...
