This is an absolutely beautiful resort with only 37 rooms spread over a large, nicely landscaped area with many water details. The rooms are basically "Casitas" with a walled enclosure and a pavilion outside with built in lounging furniture. The rooms are large and clean with large baths having windows to small outside gardens. There were always snacks in our... more

Never before have I experienced such well trained staff and such excellent service - the staff anticipated ones every wish, while still being discrete. The architecture, selection of materials and interior are of absolute highest standards, combined they create a majestic yet peaceful atmosphere and form the perfect surrounding to relax and enjoy being treated like a king. The beauty... more

It was my third time in Amanjena, always during New Years, we come back because the Hotel is the most beautiful hotel in terms of architecture that I know. Amanjena has now, I think over 10 years…of course is not brand new, but it has mature well, the vegetation has grown impeccable, and it is well maintained for 10 year... more

Now I know what my imaginations were when I was thinking as a child of 1001 night: huge arabic architecture with North African interior design consisting of a lot of luxurious exotic details combined with outstanding service, which is normally only expected from the asian continent We were there at the beginning of November. Unfortunately we were very unlucky with... more

We just returned from a 3 day stay at the Amanjena, and wish we were still there. From the moment we arrived at the reception desk, to the sad morning we had to leave, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. There was an abundance of fresh red roses decorating the different rooms of our villa, delicious fruits and nuts... more

We were at Amanjena over Christmas 2008. I have to say it was simply awful. It is looking tired and unloved, and although the staff are plentiful and willing, it always feels more for the tipping than the service. The food was the worst shock however. How would you like Calamari a la romana covered in so much batter that... more

Overall we loved this hotel primarily for the setting and the excellent service and for these reasons alone would recommend it. The entrance and reception are very understated but the rest of the property is tranquil and quite gorgeous viewed at any time of the day. The pool area is fantastic and the majority of staff are just on the... more

My second time staying here - first time was about a year after it opened. stayed over the bank holiday weekend and the hotel was completely fully booked - we had one of the one bed pool villas. day 1 didn't start well as we arrived too early to check in and the pool area was absolutely packed - no... more

It is natural that different people have different expectations and ultimately enjoy or suffer different experiences. That is why any review, and this one is no exception, is only useful in so far as the reviewer's tastes happen to coincide with those of the reader - and even then, if the reader's experiences turn out not to be the same... more
