My mum and I wanted to be adventurous and go to explore Marrakech for a few days. After really positive experiences in 5star hotels while travelling Egypt, I thought I'd go for it and found this hotel I thought was a real bargain. I know north African 5star is equivalent to our 3/4star. Went half board as it was a... more

This was a lovely hotel that fulfilled all basic requirements. The buffet breakfast that was included was great. The location was nicely centered with a short walk to the medina. The gym was basic but present with a treadmill and free weights. The room was clean with a small balcony. There is a ton of smoking in Morocco and all... more

I never write on these sites as I travel so much for work and leisure and if I have a complaint I make it directly to the establishment. However, I really do wonder where most of the other travellers stayed and whether they should stick to more 'English' places like Spain!!! I read the reviews and did consider changing hotel....... more

It's hard to see why anyone would want to holiday in Morocco. It's very expensive (for tourists), everyone is trying to rip you off, and Marrakech is dirty and smelly. The city is, at times, quite threatening, as evidenced by the existence of 'Tourist Police'. The Royal Mirage is definitely not a 4-star hotel! Morrocans haven't got a clue about... more

This Hotel has 4 stars but of you stayed there you would find this hard to believe. It does have lots of facilities. The pool is large and clean and there are several restaurants but beware, all but one were shut for our entire stay. The area is OK. It's in Hivernage, which is the upmarket and it is on... more

I stumbled (literally) upon the Royal Mirage Marrakech after having spent the previous 2 evenings nearby at an establishment run by the local authorities. The Royal Mirage beckoned with its fine retinue of entertainment ladies and bottom shelf liquor. My room was clean enough and everything you'd expect to be in working order, was. Good hot water, flushable toilets and... more

The name is befitting the five star Royal Mirage Hotel in Marrakech; the star rating is just that; a mirage. The reality is that the performance level of the hotel is closer to a three star Western-European hotel than anything else, even taking into account a possibly more liberal Moroccan rating system. It is, in fact, quite difficult to know... more

This is a typical hotel for travel agecy organized group of tourists! Apparently this hotel was former Sheraton, and rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with internet access. So, this was a good point if you are in Marrakech for work. Heating and aeration system was good. I didn't try, but there is a hammam at your disposal. There was... more

Was at this hotel for a business meeting in Nov. 08. The accommodations themselves are adequate (not five-star but okay), but there a few things to take note of if you have a business meeting here or are a part of one: - Take your money/passport with you (the safes often don't work and cleaning staff often are careless with... more

Having read quite a few poor reviews about this hotel, we arrived with some trepidation. My friend (48), her daughter (25), my daughter (24) and myself (58), arrived at 10am on 24th October, not expecting to be shown to our rooms. However, after booking in, we were pleased our rooms were ready for us. Rooms were clean and spacious. We... more
