We chose Riad Badi because of a search for destinations convenient for the Marrakech Marathon 2020 and we can honestly say we are unable to find one negative point about our stay there.

The hosts Christian and Isabelle were absolutely charming, helpful, interesting and accommodating but without being at all imposing. They sat us down with a map and leaflets/ guide books to show us the Médina and all around Marrakech for recommendations of places to visit, eat and drink. Plus - as Christian is a keen runner he was the best host for anyone about to run the Marrakech Marathon and we spoke ‘the international language of runners’ most days: he helped us with the start line location and even lent me a roller after the event to help with recovery.

Isabelle organised a fantastic breakfast every day and on race day was up before 5am to prepare oatmeal and banana/dates especially for me at 6.00am.

The venue is beautiful - a classic Riad around a central garden space and it has a lovely roof terrace for basking in the sun. Our room was lovely with a very comfy double bed - good mattress and lovely furnishings including a sprinkling of rose petals on arrival. Excellent shower and bathroom facilities too. The location of the Riad is literally a 2 minute walk from the Wall of the Médina and from the beautiful Badi Palace which was well worth the visit.

We walked everywhere from Riad Badi and in our first venture, Christian even came out into the road/ roundabout area with us to point out good routes and landmarks.

We would totally recommend Riad Badi for it’s ideal location, welcoming and efficient hosts, quality of comfort, breakfasts and general satisfaction during our stay. Plus, the hosts arranged a transfer driver to collect us from the airport and then take us back when we left and for a very reasonable price.

Our photos don’t do it justice but we loved the venue.

Overall, my boyfriend and I had a very nice time in Morocco, and the stay at Riad Badi was certainly one exceptional moment in our trip. An excellent shower and a comfy bed were all we dreamed after a full day visiting the city. We also enjoyed having breakfast at their terrasse and we strongly recommend you try it. A special thank you for the personal touches from the hosts, Christian and Isabelle, who were always thoughtful and caring. We sincerely hope to come back.

Lovely rooms, excellent location, delicious breakfast, great roof terrace but mostly the perfect hosts. Christian and Isabelle go out of their way to make you feel comfortable in their Riad and in Marrakech. The mini tour made a huge difference to our confidence in finding our way around and the tips for shops/atms/restaurants all great. Take advantage of their airport transfers and local knowledge. Merci beaucoup.

I would like to post another review although I have done one on Booking.com. Isabelle and Christian, speak French and English. For me, it was a great chance to practice my French; they were very patient in sharing each other's experience and answering the questions of me and my wife. They provided very useful information for visiting Marrakech and Fes. We felt very relaxed and happy to take to them. We exchanged some small gifts with them when saying goodbye and hope that we can meet them in the future, in Morocco, China, or France:)

My apprehension in booking a Riad originally sat around the words "traditional guest house", imagining something like a typical British guest house, so after spending hours looking at accommodation I decided to trust previous reviews on trip advisor and book the Riad Badi.

We booked the Riad's private transfer from the airport - easy to find, friendly guy, luxurious, spacious and comfortable vehicle. The street where the Riad is located is too narrow for vehicles, so a short walk from the main road took us to the Riad. At this stage, one wondered where we were being taken too, whilst always keeping in mind that we wanted a true Moroccan experience! The result behind the big door at the end of the street was nothing short of stunning...

We were greeted by Isabelle and Christian with local tea and pastry, and a run through of what to do in the area and highlighting of key places to visit on a map. This was followed up later with a good 2-hour familiarisation walking tour of the medina with Christian. This was THE most valuable thing that we did and allowed us to get our bearings and be comfortable in a city which we'd have otherwise found quite daunting.

The Riad which is beautifully presented and very well maintained with plant of peaceful corners to sit and relax. The roof top terrace was quiet and an absolute sun trap if you like that sort of thing. Lots of shaded areas, hats and parasols provided and a great plunge pool. We were even offered sun cream if we didn't have any (very impressive). It was great to sit and watch the storks nesting on the palace walls and see them fly overhead. This was a great place to come back to after the mayhem, madness and noise of the world outside.
At this point, I will mention the red wine seeing as that's what we quickly became accustomed to enjoying in the late afternoon (!) - thoroughly enjoyable and very reasonably priced! The local beer served was also very very nice!

Our room was beautiful - comfortable, spacious peaceful and cool with every amenity that we needed (hairdryer and water included!). Remember to take an adapter if using your own plug, but again Christian and Isabelle are happy to loan one if you forget. Huge bathroom, towels, shampoo and soap provided it was lovely to wake up to the sound of birdsong echoing through the Riad in the morning. If I HAD to find just one thing that could have made the room even more perfect, it would have been to have a mirror in the bedroom so that my husband could have showered in peace whilst I dried my hair. That said, I'm sure if I'd asked for one, it would have been provided, so please do not take this as criticism I and C 😉

Breakfast was a real treat of freshly baked breads, jams, fruits and yoghurt. Lovely to take up on the terrace and the staff were friendly and discreet.

We ate at the Riad on the 2nd night of our 3 night stay - the food was absolutely delicious and home cooked. The portions were very very generous and setting downstairs lovely. Fantastic value for money and so nice to spend an evening away from the hustle and bustle outside.

I'm sure that I've forgotten a million and one things that I meant to say in my review, but I'm pleased to report that everything that I'd read on here is absolutely right. Nothing was too much trouble. Christian and Isabelle were the perfect hosts and worked hard to make our stay perfect - it really was the little things that made the biggest difference and I wouldn't hesitate ton stay here again 😊

Thank you so much for your very nice review with plenty of details and thank also for confirming the previous reviews. We are delighted to have met your expectations: you wanted a traditional guest house and you found a real guesthouse in Marrakech. We are glad you enjoyed very much your stay due to our welcome (local tea and pastry, key places to visit on a map and a familiarisation walking tour of the medina), our house (quiet, pieceful and comfortable) and the meals (breakfast and the dinner). Kind regards

We haven't even returned home from traveling and I want to make sure to write this while everything is fresh in mind. When we originally planned to travel to Morocco while visiting our son in Spain, I had no idea what to expect. Different language, different customs, I felt totally adrift. From the very beginning, Isabelle was so welcoming even before meeting us. She steered us through the reservation process and answered all of our questions thoroughly, even those that probably were most obvious. When we asked for advice about planning travel outside of Marrekech, she put together an itinerary which was exactly what we had in mind, without even knowing it. We didn't have to worry about guide, or car, or destination.
Meeting us at the airport after a long flight, our transition from US to Riad Badi was seamless. The car ride showed me a country that was awash with color and sound. Walking down the quiet street to the Riad was like being in another time period. Opening the door and walking inside was like entering an oasis of calm and beauty. The central courtyard was full of sunlight and shade. The rooms (we had a total of 3) were charming, beautiful, quaint and clean all at the same time.
Isabelle ushered us through the official paperwork over Moroccan tea and cookies. After a nap Christian took us around the city through the streets which at first were confusing but turned out to be totally understandable and navigable. He quickly showed us our way around so we would be able to find it all on the following day. Instinctively he knew what would be most overwhelming and made it familiar. In fact, whenever we were trying to find our way to a destination over the course of the visit, he would take us there or make sure we knew where we were going.
It's not just that the Riad is beautiful and that Christian and Isabelle are amazing people. The food for breakfast was more than we had ever expected. On our return from our desert trip we had dinner at the Riad rather than going out and it was better than any restaurant we had visited. Sakhrina is not just incredibly pleasant and capable but a great cook too. (Wait til you see how clean the three of them keep things).
The itinerary that Isabelle organized through the Atlas mountains and the Gorges and the Desert was right on the money. Our guide, Adil, is competent and intelligent and was incredibly tolerant of a rambunctious family. He became our friend and in so doing made our connection to Morocco and its people real. We can't wait until we're able to return , renew our friendships and explore more of this incredbly beautiful and rich country.

Riad Badi is not just a bed and breakfast. This is the house of gracious hosts Christian and Isabelle. Upon entering its big door, all we could say was, "Wow!" We were astonished and speechless as to how lovely this place is. The pictures posted on this site is how you see it. We booked the turquoise room and we loved it. The room was wonderfully decorated. It was very clean. There is a heating system which was very comforting since our trip was during winter. The toilet was clean as well. Coffee and the local mint tea were offered to us, which we both enjoyed.

Christian showed us around the square and the souks. He gave us tips on how to be street wise in their area. He advised us on how to maximise our stay by identifying which destinations we should prioritize.

What we found really touching was when Isabelle gave us a cold pack for my girlfriend's massively swollen ankle. For us, it was a kind and caring gesture. We felt like we are not just guests. We were valued guests, perhaps like close friends or even family.

Thank you for welcoming us to your abode, Christian and Isabelle. We will definitely come back and visit you some time in the near or far future.

Thanks Ted for having chosen the Riad Badi for your first anniversary and thanks for taking your time to write the VERY nice review. You organized yourself your Moroccan trip and you wanted to see as much as possible. You stayed two nights at Riad badi before leaving for your great tour: Casablanca, Ouzazate, Merzouga and Fez. The marvelous views of Atlas mountains, the hike along the Sahara desert and the sunset at Erg Chebbi are unforgotten. We were delighted to meet you and to have contributed to the success of your trip. Thanks again.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Riad Badi. This is a fantastic place to stay in Marrakech.

It is located a stones throw from Jamaa El Fna square and the Souks. It is in a quiet residential street and allows for a relaxing tranquil retreat from the busy square and markets.

Christian gives an orientation which is invaluable. He has a wealth of information on where to eat, what to buy where and what attractions to visit.

Both Isabelle and Christian are fantastic hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

They helped us organise a day trip to the ourika valley which was one of the highlights of our trip. They also organised our airport transfers and helped retrieve our lost luggage! The drivers are excellent.

The room was very comfortable and had a lot of traditional touches.

We enjoyed lovely breakfasts on the peaceful terrace in the warm summer sun each morning.
Each evening we enjoyed a glass of wine and a beer in the lovely seating area in the Riad.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend that you book Riad Badi for your stay in Marrakech.

First of all-thank You Isabelle and Christian for opening your beautiful home for us travellers♡
Riad Badi is a new built riad with traditional moroccan style and decor. So you have all the modern comforts from aircon/heater to a small dip pool in the roof garden. The rooms are colourful and spacious with windows to the central court yard as it is typical. Every place is clean and well taken care of.
Our family enjoyed the delicious breakfasts on the sunny roof-even christmas time is warm and nice for us scandinavians. I myself have the celiac disease and was provided with gluten free delicacies every day for breakfast.
The Riad feels very homey and safe because every time someone leaves or enters it is one of the hosts who opens the doors.
Also there is a cute young rescue-cat Roba as a family member-a nice moroccan add-on. The whole city of Marrakech buzzes with cats and one of them has a real Home now.
Isabelle and Christian are most helpful, kind and professional as hosts and made all our family feel really happy of our stay.
We hope to return soon!

Ps. Our family is two adults and three adult/teenage children. Maybe with very lively younger children a hotel type accommodation is better as the central court echoes of smallest of noices.

We returned from Riad Badi on Monday and can't praise it highly enough. We'd read the good reviews and Isabelle and Christian deserve every positive word. After arriving in the [pre-arranged taxi], we were welcomed with some tasty Moroccan snacks and mint tea, and Isabelle took the time and effort of not only advising on some of the places to visit (with pros and cons) but also spent about an hour walking around to show us where places were etc. I was tired from travelling and overwhelmed by the traffic and noise, so this orientation was very welcome, and oddly it all soon became familiar!
The Riad itself is in a really good location, close enough to easily walk to the main attractions, but not in the middle of the souks which are hard to negotiate at night. We are two couples, and all found it an oasis of calm to return to in the late afternoon for a cup of tea or glass of wine by the pool on the lovely roof terrace.
Echoing what others have said, the breakfasts are really lovely and change daily (just sorry I couldn't do justice to the quantity!), the evening meal we had on our first evening was excellent, and the rooms are beautiful with different Moroccan decor and colour schemes. There are so many touches here that demonstrate that Christian and Isabelle have thought through what it is like to be a visitor; from the sun hats to loan, to a daily bottle of water and dominoes and books to use (not that there was time to read - there's sooo much to see and do!). Would highly recommend taking up Isabelle's suggestions, and starting with the 'hop on/off' bus is a really good way of having a quick overview with headphones providing good information. We went round once (took an hour) and) then got off at various stops. Although you could get on another bus to the stunning Jardin Majorelle (Jacques Majorelle/Yves Saint Lauren restored garden) within the same price, we had just missed one so rather than wait 1/2 hour for the next, walked and it only took about 10 minutes.
We also took up Isabelle's suggestion of having a traditional Hamman which was incredible, and again she walked with us to find it and showing us a restaurant on the way which we went back to eat at later and had an amazing meal.
Loved the Kosybar which became our local, but more for a rest and a drink after having been out all day as we chose to eat at restaurants, some of which are fantastic buildings hidden at the end of narrow and nondescript windy streets. I will review the places we ate at and saw when I have time, but I could carry on for several more pages raving about the Riad Badi, as it really was that good. Christian and Isabelle waved us off until we were out of sight and I felt although our acquaintance with them had been brief, (they work extremely hard and long hours) we made a real connection.
In conclusion, I don't understand why people would choose to stay in big hotels when there are places like this to stay at. It was small enough for really personal touches, but still big enough for privacy & had everything you could need. Thank you for an amazing stay Christian and Isabelle, you definitely made a real positive difference to our experience of Marrakech.

The weather is February is usually very pleasant, around 20* and can be sunny during the day. However, it gets chilly in the evenings, so you will definitely need a jacket. The weather gets considerably warmer in March. Have a wonderful holiday!

Hi UMG2014 When my Wife, Daughter & I travelled to Marrakech we stayed in a triple-occupancy room @ the Riad Badi. The Riad Badi website will give you information regarding room prices although there are seasonal variations. Contacting Christian & Isabelle via e-mail or phone will be the best way to answer your query regarding room price quotes in spring 2015. Information about the Riad Badi website, phone number and e-mail are available on the Trip Advisor App / website (I made use of all three options before travelling). Hope both of you enjoy your stay.
