Having been to Morocco three times before, I can honestly say this was my best visit. Forget your 4 and 5 star hotels, the Riad experience trumps them all. Plenty of activities: quad biking, visits to Ourika Valley and Essaouira, as well as many sights within Marrakech. The owner of the Riad, Simon, was extremely helpful before the holiday, helping... A beautiful Riad with friendly and welcoming staff. Adil and Abdul could not have been more helpful over the last week of our stay. My family of 7 stayed at the luxurious Riad Laksiba where we were treated like royalty (even told off for trying to wash my own plates on the first night!). Breakfast every morning was served by... I don't actually need to write a review as they're all positive, and mine will be too… Lovely riad, lovely staff, great city. Took my wife, mother in law and three kids there last week for ten days, had a great time, the staff can organise anything given a bit of notice…our teenager had her birthday on our last day,... As the first checkpoint for our travels around Morocco, the staff of Riad Laksiba instantly helped us discard our worries. We were shown how to get about the sprawling capital (and Morocco) as well as camel rides, quadbikes, hammams, water parks, cooking courses, day trips and much more (at lower prices) being made easily available for us. The staff are... More

We had a truly exceptional time during our stay in Riad Laksiba. Apart from the beautiful building and the fantastic location, the staff working in the Riad were truly outstanding and made our stay simply excellent. Their hospitality and effort was second to none in ensuring we had the best time possible. Nothing was too much trouble for them and... More

Riad Laksiba is beautifully designed and has an incredibly fresh feel, but its biggest draw is the people: the staff and owner are incredibly kind and smart and active in many of the events that make contemporary Marrakech even more interesting. The managers, Adil and Abdelhamid, are both chill and ambitious. I would have also been friends with then if... More

As a group of four young travellers we went to Marrakesh apprehensive of what was to come, as we understood that Marrakesh was a busy city, with a completely different culture. However when we were welcomed by Adil, Abdo, Abdelhamid, Nadia and Raja, Riad Laksiba's fantastic team of staff, our fears were instantly left behind, as they made us feel... More

This road is simply the best when it comes to outstanding value, hospitality and friendliness. The staff can't do enough for you and think of everything. The food is amazing and knocks socks of many other much more expensive places. A lot of riads boast that staying with them is like staying in a private home, but often they don't... More

Riad Laksiba is amazing. A really oasis in the wonderful yet busy city that is Marrakech. We stayed for 6 nights and had a truly memorable time. The roof top is undoubtedly the best place to watch the North African sun set, heightened by 'Derek and Mavis' the roof top turtles. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. The breakfast... We had a great 5 nights over 3 stays. The riad was so accommodating to our needs as we went away to Essaioura came back went off for 2 nights to the dessert. Our gear was stored for us whilst we were away and our room was waiting for us when we came back. The staff at the riad were... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tucked just inside the ancient walls of the Kasbah quartier of Marrakech Medina you will find Riad Laksiba a quiet English owned Riad perfectly place for you to discover the mystique that is Marrakech. What do you want to do?• Explore Morocco the genuine way• Immerse yourself into the culture• Travel with the locals• See the natural & unspoilt beauty of this country• Make the journey part of your holiday• A memorable way to discover a country & its people• Get to know like-minded people• A step towards greater exploration• Be encouraged to appreciate a country as it should be seen.…make it an unforgettable experience Then you may well be a Riad Laksiba "Flashpacker": Most travellers have backpacked at some stage in their life. Some go for the traditional hard-core version. Sleeping on floors and roughing it in the jungle. Others have opted for the softer version, those in their early to late 20′s, staying in hostels, sleeping in large dorms; in Australia or Thailand for example. However, most have also experienced the dirty bed linen, the shared showers and blocked toilets. So now that you have ticked those boxes and are now a bit maturer what is the next step? Flashpacker vs Backpacker: You don’t want to miss out on travelling by public transport, the thought of staying in a chain hotel puts you off, package holidays are an absolute no no; you want that bit of the luxury, you have become accustomed to with age, that you can actually afford now and you have a bit more cash to spare. Welcome to being part of a very fast growing trend -THE FLASHPACKER The Flashpacker: Laptop, iPhone, Digital Camera and a little luxury on a Budget. Flashpacking as the name implies derives from backpacking. Backpacking with an upgrade, making it flash. Flash for cash, flash as in expectation of standard or even just flash with gadgets at hand (iPhone, laptop, etc). Riad Laksiba is one of the first of it’s kind, in Marrakech, to offer this unique travel experience and cater for the evident gap in the market. Over the year we have identified that our target market is travellers in their mid 20′s to late 40′s failing to find the standard within the right time frame and budget category. Riad Laksiba prides itself on being able to offer an exceptional service allowing its clients to pre book accommodation within the backpacker budget (Euro 30-60 (£25-£50)/ night/ double room). The standard of our rooms a priority. Clean linen, en-suite, towels included, Free Wi-Fi, safe locations, female friendly and suitable for solo travellers. The advantage that Riad Laksiba offers to Flashpackers is that it offers unique accommodation, not listed in any of the guidebooks therefore undiscovered and not overrun with backpackers. In addition we offer a very personal service catering for the individual travellers needs without taking away the feeling of independent travel from the traveller. Riad Laksiba encourages our guests to experience the true environment of the country and therefore works supporting local community. The Riad Laksiba experience is much about integrating into a local community. Our motto "…don’t just be a tourist" strikes a cord with most flashpacker clients. We also organise Yoga retreats, Cookery based holidays, 2 Center Holidays to Marrakech / Essaouria and also Marrakech / Ourika Valley thus City-Coast and City-Country. We are also planning City-Desert for the more adventurous. We look forward to receiving you and adding value to your own adventure. Simon Hawkesley (Riad Laksiba) ... more   less
