I cannot pretend this hotel was more than average but it was cheap, cheerful & quirky. The breakfast was plentiful if plain with croissants, bread, jam, eggs & plentiful supplies of coffee so certainly enough to start the day on. There was a view over the city to the Atlas Mountains & the hubub of Djemma el Fna could be heard from the... More

We stayed for four nights in hotel Cecil in a double standard room, it was clean and well presented with towels and AC remote given to us upon reception. They have 1litre bottles of water to buy in reception also for 6dh - much cheaper than anywhere else we found and convenient being in your hotel. The gentleman carried out... More

This hotel is located right off the main square, the location couldn't be any better. The staff are nice and helpful. The rooms are simple and clean. It was really cold when we visited and we were freezing in some other hotels but this one was pretty warm and there were extra blankets in the room. The shared bathrooms are... More

My friend and I spent three nights here in January. We chose to stay here because we read reviews saying the location was great, but we didn't realise how great it really was. Located a few steps away from the heart of Marrakech, Jamaa el Fna square, you can't hope for a more perfect location, especially at such amazing prices.... More

The location of this hotel was absolutely fantastic. Right of the Djeema El Fna, it was easy to locate whenever walking around Marrakesh. The customer service was fantastic. Backpacking from Spain to Morocco, we were welcomed with open arms after an overnight train from Tangier and a delicious french breakfast of bread, hardboiled eggs, jams, fresh orange juice, and tea... The hotel is conveniently just 20 seconds walk from Djeema El Fna square, yet it is a suitably calm a relaxed atmosphere to escape the hustle and bustle. Sure, the building isn't in perfect condition, but it is kept completely clean and tidy. And for what you get, including breakfast and unbeatable location, the prices are excellent value. The guys... The hotel itself is pretty good for the price and especially the location. However, they refused to give a room to a muslim husband and his wife without proof of marriage. The couple wasn't Moroccan, yet they discriminated them because of their religion. In contrast: non-muslim guests however got rooms with how many partners they wanted.

Riad Cecil is only 50 yards from the hubbub of Jemma all Fna square yet remains an oasis of calm. Staff all very helpful and friendly, having some French will help. Room on ground floor was small but comfortable, everything worked as it should e.g. shower, TV. Remember to ask for air con and other remotes at reception. Breakfast wasn't taken... More

The riad itself is in an excellent location to all of the action - just off of the Jemma al Fna square. And I've not stayed in other accommodations in Marrakesh, so this review should be taken with that in mind. Four of us stayed three nights during Christmas in a four-person room on the third floor. The atmosphere in... More
