We stayed at hotel Cecil and Cecil 2 in February. It was definitely cold at night but given the time of year and lack of central heating, expected. We found the place to be quite clean and the stay perfectly suited to our budget. We finitely enjoyed having our own bathroom the first few dats but when we moved to... More

I been in this riad in May, staying one night on my way to Agadir. Arrival was little earlier so i left luggage in the room which was reserved for me.They offer me breakfast , with delicious tea. After few hours I come back hoping to relax after journey. But room was still messed up. Solution was that I change... More

Is the Hotel Cecil for you — that's the question? Many would turn their noses up and describe it as very downmarket — it's an Arab hotel in the Arab medina. From our observations, most of the guests seem to be young people, but a few were in their seventies, and we met a French woman who had stayed there... More

Just returned after a 7 night stay and have to say this is somewhere I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone. . Although I am a fairly fussy person and this hotel is fairly basic and in my opinion mainly caters for back packers but I would still have no hesitation of either staying there again or recommending it... We rented a room for one night as we were going to Zagora for the following day. Upon seeing our room we wanted to stay an extra two nights following our return from Zagora but the hotel was all booked. We were really impressed with the hotel staff who went out of his way to help us find another place... More

We stayed here for one night and was really impressed with the location, friendliness and cleanliness. For this price we didn't expect too much and was really impressed. Just a 1 minute walk from the Djeema el Fna and really easy to find. Recommended for everyone who wants a cheap place to stay at a great location.

We had a great two nights here. The room was very clean but the sewage did smell a little (standard in many places in Morocco). The breakfast was basic but very good up on the rooftop. Loved the orange juice, coffee and tea. You could not ask for a better location in Marrakech. 10 seconds walk from the square. We... More

Clean rooms. Clean with hot water, wifi everywhere and nice breakfast with space to chill and catch rays on the terrace. All for about 8 quid a night. Bargain! Usually go to hotel essaouiera but it was full but can recommend this place as good if bit better.

Just got back from a week here. Thought the hotel was great - friendly, helpful staff, clean, comfortable room, and amazingly quiet too, considering how close it is to the Jemma el Fna. Decor, furnishing and rooms were all traditional Moroccan and charming. Breakfast on the roof in the sunshine was lovely. Terrific value too, and the location couldn't be... More

We stayed nine nights here, it's a clean calm hotel, perfect if you want to be close to the hubbub of the square but want peace at the end of the day! Great roof terrace with view if the square. Breakfast included, you need to order it in the kitchen on the roof when you get upstairs, Lipton tea available... More
