I hate to write negative reviews about a hotel in a country that thrives on its tourism and I do not do this lightly. However, as a Brit who is fortunate enough to travel but has to save hard to do so, I feel aggrieved that I had to pay so much per night for a 'Junior Suite' genuinely believing I was paying for something special and a great end to our holiday. But what we experienced wouldn't even warrant a 3* hotel rating in the UK.
Throughout the hotel the general ambiance is poor. It feels to some degree that it WAS good once, but nothing's been replaced or updated in a long time. All the money the hotel makes seems to be poured into the Spa & Hammam which are not cheap. The bright but tired velour chairs in reception are quite startling and don't really tie in with the decor. There are tables with nothing on them, book shelves are empty as are the niches and 'nooks' that are great architectural features but could do with lamps or tea lights on them.
