The Riad Azoualy is located in the Medina of Marrakech, in the middle of the Mellah, the ancient Jewish quarter of Marrakech, a few steps away from the Bahia Palace and a 10 minute walk from the legendary Jemaa-El-Fna square. The Riad Azoulay combines the comforts, the traditional ambiance and the charm of old riads. The building has been restored to its former splendor of the past using the traditional materials, finishes and techniques.

The Riad Azoulay has five spacious rooms, all overlooking the internal patio and all furnished with air conditioning and heating, roomy wardrobes, small safes for personal effects, Internet and WI-FI connection, mineral water and fresh flowers daily. Soft plump pillows and sheets of Egyptian cotton will help to make your nights comfortable and dreamy! All the bathrooms are ensuite, and are equipped with hair-dryers, soft towels and top rate ecological toilet and beauty products. Each suite has an individual theme, giving them a unique and unforgettable character. Some of the rooms can be provided with a third bed.

The African, Mauritanian and Syrian rooms have matrimonial beds which can be made into two singles.

The Riad Azoulay boasts two magnificent junior suites, the Favorita and the Tibetan Suites, and two large sumptuous suites, the Sultana and Royale Suites. The suites, which have been decorated with great care and attention to detail, come equipped with air conditioning and central heating, spacious wardrobes, private safes for the guests' personal effects, Internet and WI-FI connection, and a daily supply of mineral water and fresh flowers. Soft plump pillows and sheets of the finest Egyptian cotton have been provided to ensure the guests with all one needs for a relaxing night's sleep. All the bathrooms are ensuite, and are equipped with hair-dryers, soft towels and top rate ecological toilet and beauty products.

The typical Mediterranean breakfast, included in the tariff of the room, can be served "al fresco" on the patio or terrace, or in the winter months, in the ground floor dining area. Guests will able to begin their day with freshly baked bread, homemade marmalade and jams, boiled, fried, or scrambled eggs or omelettes, oven fresh cakes and biscuits, yoghurt, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, and of course coffee or tea.

Light freshly made snacks are available throughout the day. Thus while you are basking in the sun on the terrace you could enjoy a Moroccan yoghurt made with honey and nuts, or a bowl of fresh fruit salad, or if something a little more filling is preferred, a "trio" of Moroccan salads, or a perhaps a sandwich of grilled vegetables, with goats' cheese and a touch of mint.

Our dinners are the result of a fusion of Moroccan and Italian cuisine, served by candlelight, and followed by a relaxing herb tea. We never use processed foods in our kitchen, and all our meals are prepared using traditional methods. Our chef plans a delicious menu of the day with typical traditional Moroccan dishes, prepared with love and the freshest of ingredients. Try our "briouates" (small pastries with savoury fillings) or the famous "pastilla" with pigeon and almonds, Moroccan salads and soups, and our delicious tajines and couscous, and we are sure you will be delighted! As we are only a small hotel, guests are kindly asked to let the staff know if they would like to dine with us. The chef will make every attempt to satisfy any dietary requirements the guests may have. Vegetarians are made most welcome.

Moroccan Cuisine is a perfect combination of various traditional cuisines and is one of the best in the world. Its fascinating mixture of flavours, aromas and colours, combined with its capacity to amalgamate vegetables, fish and fruit with delicate and refined spices, have made it renowned and appreciated the world over.

Mediterranean, African, and Oriental cuisine have been fused with the local Berber traditions; the bitter-sweet tastes are inherited from the lands of Arabia, whereas the tradition of combining fruit with meat is Persian. The desserts, full of sugar and spice, are instead a Turkish passion. In order to know a country well, the is no better way than to study its traditional cuisine, taste its foods, and enjoy its flavours and aromas.

Thus, with this aim in mind, the Riad Azoulay offers its guests the opportunity to join the chef Saida, who will reveal to them all the secrets of the Moroccan cuisine.

During the course the chef will teach the students how to recognize and choose the correct spices for each dish, how to cook using the traditional methods, and how to prepare some true Moroccan meals to serve to their friends and family when they return home. Amongst other things students will be taught how to make cous cous with lamb stew and vegetables, how to use the terracotta tajine to braise meat with vegetables and fruit, and how to make some very special Moroccan desserts.

The ritual of the Hammam, which heals the body and relaxes the mind, is available to our guests in our Wellbeing Centre.

Guests can enjoy a relaxing steam bath or an invigorating body scrub in the candle lit hammam, sitting on the benches of Italian Carrara marble. Or maybe they would like to book a soothing massage by one of our qualified masseurs, and experience the exotic qualities of the locally sourced but world famous Moroccan Argan oil.

Riad Azoulay is really a spectacular place. It was so fun to be in the hustle of the Medina and then just sneak into that little door and be in a comfortable oasis filled with loving and attentive staff. The food was amazing and so lovely on the roof top enjoying the sunset. The people who work there seem to really care. Thank you everyone for making our trip with an antsy tween so special :)

When you first walk through the spice market leading to the Riad you do wonder what you have let yourself in for, the market is fairly manic. The riad on the other hand is an oasis of serenity. From the first moment you walk through the door until you leave to go back to the airport you are in a haven of peace and tranquility. The riad smells wonderful, the staff just can't do enough for you and the rooms are beautifully clean. Whoever is responsible for the general upkeep of the riad is definitely doing something right. On our first night we ate in the riad and it was one of the best meals we had during our stay, the lamb was cooked beautifully and it was all the more special as we were the only guests eating in that night, it was almost as if we had arrived at a friends house for dinner!, What we also really liked was that you could choose where you dined, downstairs, on the roof or on the tables just outside your room, just ask and it was sorted. The ladies in the hammam also did a fantastic job on one of the afternoons when my wife and I enjoyed a couple of hours there. Whilst I hate to pick out staff, as they were all wonderful, I would like to especially thank Abdul and Ayoub (hope I spelt that right) for looking after us during our stay, these gentlemen definitely understand what looking after guests means. All in all though all of the staff were great. If you are in the city and looking for a riad then I would definitely recommend this riad.

There’s myriad of choices of accommodation in Marrakech. But i chose to look for traditional riad so we can experience what it’s like to be one of the locals. I made a perfect choice! Riad Azoulay is inside Medina, next to spice market. Walking distance to all main attraction. Clean & Beautiful. We’ve been to all hotels in the world comparing the level if service & star level. Staff of Riad tops it! Exceptional! Goes above & beyond demonstrating a high level of commitment and dedication beyond what is expected, from hands in & prompt communications, arranging transfers, purchasing tour tickets, pick up to and from golf course, arranging over the top breakfast & dinner, to arranging surprise breakfast cake on the roof top for my husband’s bday. I have so much positive to say about Riad Azoulay. Highly recommended. Don’t look further.

An oasis between the hustle and bustle! I enjoyed the lovely smells and the ambience behind the mysterious hotel door. Location is good next to shops although the roads to the hotel sometimes seemed a tiny scary! Cute food surprises were left in hotel room, loved rose water touch in bath and nice staff. Morrocon tea given when entered. Upgrade given too. Would recommend breakfast could be better slightly better but it was nice. My one small issue was — On our check out we had to catch our flight and leave early we were told we would receive some form of breakfast though not complete offering, we didn’t receive any food item despite reminding the staff twice (we only got coffee). But I feel they should have made this clearer that they could not provide anything.

The staff could not have been more helpful! They arranged drivers for us, made dinner reservations, printed some pages for me, prepared dinner for our first evening. They were very kind and helpful! The lobby is beautiful and our room was very comfortable.

Great riad in a central location. Staff, service, atmosphere all wonderful. Breakfasts are simple but tasty and served on the roof terrace. Riad organised a walking tour of the medina with an excellent guide. We arrived late on our first evening and the riad provided a delicious dinner. Room was spacious and nicely decorated however the bed was really quite firm! Would absolutely stay again.

What an amazing place. After 30 hours of travel, we opened the wooden door off of the narrow, chaotic, colorful, lively (in a good adventure travel way) alley to be greeted by a tranquil oasis and traditional Moroccan decorations. We had the family suite on the first floor and our young adult children had their own space tucked off to the side. We loved the rooftop terrace and looking down at the ancient buildings and spice market. The location was great. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay.

This was our first trip to Morocco, and it was a fun and sometimes hectic experience, as anticipated. We experienced wonderful service, within the walls of this Riad. The staff were helpful with requests and advice, resolving any issues we had, including when self-inflicted! The breakfast varied the bread type each morning, so we didn't get the same - I liked this touch. We had dinner on our first night and they accommodated our vegetarian request. Note I was perhaps expecting a menu to have a choice of food, but their own judgement was fine - a lovely 3 course meal. Enjoyed the setting with the small pool in the middle. Also, made the most of the roof terrace with nice places to sit and relax from the hustle of Marrakesh. Room was fine, air con, nice shower etc... We had opted for the smaller room. Communication and administration of things like airport transfer was all smooth. Location very convenient for main attractions. Tip / advance warning - Like much of Marrakesh, there is a blurred distinction between road and pavement when it comes to motorbikes whizzing around you, and that was certainly the case on the path to the accommodation as well.

What a beautiful riad - effortlessly styled, it was like staying in someone’s thoughtfully put together private residence. The staff were all lovely and accommodating, they met us from and to our taxi transfers - there’s a 7-8 minutes walk through the spice market. We felt extremely safe walking around. As others have said it’s right by a mosque so unless you have good earplugs you’ll be woken for the call to pre-dawn prayers. We had a hamman and massage - wonderful. The only downside is that the beds in the rooms we stayed in were rock hard. On the other hand the food we had at the riad was the best in the week we were in Morocco. Breakfast was interesting and tasty, the baked and cooked item changed daily. Dinners were amazing, especially the starters.

The staff are first rate, friendly and helpful. The decor and setting are great. The food is done of the best we had in Morocco. Hammam and massage out off this world. The only downside is hard mattresses but as everything else is so good I can’t mark it down!
